My NT01s are a bit odd. They're just about at the wear bars like my PS4S tires, but not really faster.

After a lot of rain and a couple of hours of cars drying the track, I switched to the NT01s and the fastest I got was a mid 1:51. It was a cooler (70-80 degree) windy day, but they just felt greasy the whole time, definitely lacking grip they had earlier. I was aiming for 32 PSI hot which normally works well. I switched back to my PS4S tires in preparation for more rain then pulled out a 1:52 with a passenger so they were technically quicker.

I'm eager to switch to slicks I got earlier this year, but these NT01 are wearing evenly with my stock suspension so it would be a waste to toss them. The things I've read is that these NT01s should be quicker when they nearly worn down. Is that even correct?

Generally, yes. I've used a lot of NT01's over the years on numerous different cars, always set the fastest times with them once the tread grooves were worn off (when they are a 'slick').

Depends on some factors though. How old the tires are, how many heat cycles are on them, and conditions they've been stored in. Older tires, even with good tread depth on them will be slower. If they've been stored at cold(er) temps they will lose performance. If they are heat cycled out, yet not worn out, they will be slower.

Run them until they cord. If they feel greasy, possibly heat cycled out. I'd just run them and adjust your driving accordingly. It will make trail braking more fun and you don't have to work as hard to get the car to the limit, haha. As tsk94 said, tread depth is only one part of the tire's performance.

Check your friction circle and maximum lateral Gs, if you have a datalogger.

Mine have done this on the right front a couple of times. I check them every so often now, and retighten them.

Double nut. No more issues. You can get thin jam nuts if you don’t have a lot of room or threads.

They came with the wing. I bought my wing second hand from Malek, but it was originally sourced through lukester.

Thanks. I did reach out to him and he said he sold the last of them and 2-3 weeks for more to be made. Haven't heard from him since I first talked to him. I reached out one more time to no reply. Usually if something like that happens I'll just leave it alone and look for other options. I don't want to be a nuisance.

You don't want those mounts unless you get a CSL trunk. They aren't designed for an oe trunk.

I ended up putting my Aim Solo here like many suggested. It seems to be the best spot for a suction mount. I'll look into other hard mounted options in the future.

Any suggestions on what are recommended items to have on the display?

I set up a few pages:

1. Laptimer
2. RunT, PT+-, ECT, OILT
3. Laptimer, PT+-

I like coolant temp, oil temp, lap time, and GPS speed. Lights set to lap time improvement for a segment against the "best lap of the day". I like GPS speed visible as it's different than the speedometer especially as speeds > 100 mph. I don't like predictive lap as it brings me out of the lap and into "what could be".

I like the idea of run time however...

Everyone has some great ideas for mounting! DJ Dub also had a CD Slot but I wonder if shifting would cause some clearance issues.

Much better than on the windshield low on the driver side. I sit low so I would have to try to peak over the unit on left hand turns lol

There's a bevy of ways to mount it there. I just thought this was the simplest way to do. Just bolted aim solo plate onto pro clip.

Only time I saw strom customer e92m was at buttonwillow. I was really impressed with the whole build, had radio comms and everything lol.

First lap he hit a wall though. Toe arm or steering axle or something snapped supposedly.

It pulls the skin of the trunk a little bit but it's not bad. Not binding how it appears to be in your pics.

That sounds like a plan! I'm in a stock seat so I'm not sitting that low where the Aim solo is eye level so that should be good for now.

At Pacific Raceways today a 996 GT3 sprung a coolant leak from (i'm assuming) one of the well-known dodgy coolant fittings, and spun/flipped a '15 911 turbo S. Brutal. They should require verified coolant system upgrades on those 996's. Freaks me out.

Do you have trunk reinforcement connecting skin to trunk structure? If so you wouldn't be able to bend the skin like that. It was made for a completely different trunk profile. Not for an OE trunk.

Malek had some shims that I think helped the hardware stay straight. Not sure if it's what it came with.
