Gintani Tune Review and Dyno Results
Sharing because I have had an awesome experience.
A friend of mine a couple weeks ago started parting out his e92, so naturally I jumped on the opportunity to buy some parts. Ended up with an Active Autowerke catless x-pipe and knew I needed a tune to go with it. Coincidentally, my friend had also ordered a tune from Gintani during the Christmas special at a deep discount but hadn't received the cable or files yet. With a couple of emails Nick was able to have it swapped over to my specifications and the cable sent to my house. Fast forward to installing it late Tuesday night and I had trouble getting it to flash properly. Car was throwing every error known to man lol. Called Nick first thing in the morning and was sent a new file and Nick waited patiently for 20 minutes on the phone with me and walked me through everything to make sure it all flashed correctly. Now, here we are today, I just had the final rear section of my exhaust installed this morning and an appointment this afternoon on a Mustang dyno at a local shop who offered a special (free) last weekend during a dyno day hosted by our local CCA. Have to say I'm 100% pleased with the results in power and the customer service at Gintani Details on the car: 2013 e92 DCT Catless Active Autowerke X-pipe Gintani Race rear Macht-schnell stage 2 intake Gintani tuned on 93 octane If you want to go crazy on correction it was probably around 69 degrees in the building with the doors shut and humidity today was 70% Sorry, no baseline to go off of. Best pull was done up to 8200rpm with HP coming in at 357 and torque at 256. I asked the guys for 8500, but they told me no. Lol I guess thats what happens when your a female at an auto shop sometimes. I'm not too worried about it, maybe there is an extra 10hp I'm missing, but thats a dyno for another day ideally on a Dynojet. I'll update the thread if that ends up happening in the future. This dyno reads low, but puts me very much in line with a few others that have been posted previously so I'm happy. |
