Excessive heat off Transmission Tunnel DCT

I had my thermostat replaced today. Driving round town today noticed the transmission tunnel where my leg rest against it seemed very hot.

I've not noticed this before. Being 6'6" my leg always rest against the tunnel never noticed it this hot before.

Is the DCT cooler tied to the engine cooling system? Could there be an issue?

There is a dct heat exchanger on top of the trans, the water lines and dct cooler lines feed into it , those lines are on the driver side as well

But I don't see how this would have anything to do with your issue

I have however seen a cat on the driver side get clogged and glow red and the way the driver knew something was wrong is he complained the floor was hot

Probably not your issue but that's the only time I've heard of someone feeling heat on the driver side

There’s a rubber plug that sits under the center console trim. When it’s missing there is excessive heat coming thru
