Mechanics

Im looking to put on some lowering springs. People are quoting me upwards of $600 bucks for labor. Is that the normal cost? Are there any mechanics around the area who could do it for cheaper? Im down to turn some wrenches as well.

I did my own Eibach Pro-Kit install in about 90 minutes. Nothing too difficult about it and then after driving it for a couple of days to let it settle I had a lifetime alignment done for $199. If the labor quote you got included alignment it isn't too far off the mark, but still seems a bit high for a couple hours of labor.

If you weren't 700 miles away, I would say bring it over and we will knock it out real quick.

The labor was not including the alignment
I want to do it on my own but I dont have jack stands or torque wrenches or spring compressors.
Only if you were a bit closer!

You could buy all that for about $100-150 if you have the room to do it. It's easy enough.

I have a close friend that is a very good mechanic and he'll do it for about half the price (install only) you have been quoted. PM me if you'd like his contact info.

You don't need a spring compressor for anything. You can install them yourself, you do need jackstands and a jack though

Im in Richmond, do jobs like this for friends/people all the time on the side, not for free but alot less than $800!! Wow. It is not overly complicated, but does take some time.

Converting 330i to full M3 running gear atm.

LS3Series I did the lowering springs but I appreciate you letting me know.
That build looks awesome. Must be tedious without a lift.

Awesome, glad you got them on. Pressing out old bushings kinda stinks, but Ive never had a lift (nor do I have room for one in this garage). Suppose the saying "you can't miss what you never had" would apply

Pics before and after? What springs did you use?

The website isnt allowing me to post pictures for some reason. The drop is decent, not too aggressive. I'm thinking of installing spacers to make it look flush
