Let us know how they fit. Think that might be a bit close to the strut without a pretty big spacer - on the 315 Hoosiers in particular

they technically build drift cars and sell them to teams for competitions so far i am impressed overall. based on what i saw.
Good to hear they looked good in person!

Drove by COTA today and from the toll road, turn one looks surprisingly steep. So Eau Rouge must be a cliff?

Eau Rouge is a god damn mountain tbh. what you see on video and pics does not do it justice, per friends who've gone.

Dropped some weight on my exhaust. It's real loud… Can rotate the down turns to point away if needed.

I didn't weigh it but my guess it's around 21lbs from the headers back.

2.5" titanium, 2 high flow titanium cats, 2 titanium resonators, into 3.5" downturns.

I'll get a clip loaded tomorrow! I'm curious if I get black flagged with SCCA next weekend. Hopefully I can point them in the opposite direction of sound check. 😬

I know people are going to say the carbon doors are unsafe because you sacrifice the crash bars. I accept this risk. The result of an accident wouldn't be much different than if I were in an older car or a motorcycle.

For now, I'll run the bk harness bar, seats, and a HANS device. Once everything is in place and I have a trailer, the cage will be much easier to execute.

Yeah a bit of a big climb into turn 1. Flattens out right at the end of the braking zone right before you start turn in too - can make it a bit interesting. The hill can really suck during morning green flags - it looks to the east. Cannot see a thing when the sun crests the hill - really fun when you and 4 or 5 other cars are racing to the first turn

Thinking the et44 would cover all the bases with spacers front / rear depending on tires?
I had a couple of different 18x11 wheel setups.
You can’t really run it ‘square’ easily I wouldn’t say. 18x11 et44 works best in the rear with a 12mm spacer giving an effective 32 offset, but that’s still too high for the front without a big spacer. I would run closer to 27-25 offset up front.
In a perfect world I would order a custom 18x11 et32 square set and run a 5mm spacer up front and it should fit, but max tire up front is still only going to be a 295 unless you cut fenders. And a 315 can be had in the rear with that offset so tires would still be staggered. 295 all around I think works on that 11” wheel combo, but it also works on a 10.5 so the extra half inch of wheel isn’t really that significant unless you’re trying to use a 305 or 315.
My favorite combo on the car was 10.5/11 staggered and the car setup I felt worked best and handled best staggered. But everybody wants to go square to save tires so it is what it is.

In a perfect world I would go with wide body kit. Have been thinking about it lately as I don't like running spacers on a track. Now I am forced to use 3mm spacer upfront with 10.5 22 offset square wheels.
Is anyone running wide body kit on our platform?
Would be interesting to know the cost of this project and the max wheel/tire combo can be run with such setup.

This is what the Schirmer cars run I think. Interesting.

BMWCCA had an event at COTA last year and one of the e9x cars sounded like a NASCAR, I think he had a similar setup (no cats, because racecar) but it wasn't titanium. To say it was insanely loud wouldn't be giving it enough credit.

I like that Grassroots posted a nice tire guide.

https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/ar...-buyers-guide/

Interesting they put PS4S and ECS in the "endurance 200TW" category. They definitely punch above their 300+ TW rating.

Just wanted to say, that super happy that I switched over from Ferodo DS2500 to Pagid RSL29.
My first impression after one long track day

  • RSL29 is totally streetable, not too noisy, bites also when cold
  • Excellent braking on track, both cold and hot
  • Quite low wear (after full day)

I have gone thru two sets of front RSL29.
One set on OEM, one set on Girodisk.
I like them a lot as well.

Neat concept, but who needs a tiny track map?

If you can't learn 10-20 turns in a very short order you probably shouldn't be on track. I definitely wouldn't want to be out there with folks looking at their Idrive vs working on their awareness.

This also requires a 2011.5+ car and newer or a retrofitted COMBOX + BMW APP in order to work.

So I threw my 220m's on since lowering/track alignment. Noticed front of front drivers side fender liner rubbing. Should I ditch the spacer? Im guessing too much caster, which a 275/35r18 won't rub, but 255/35r19 does

I had very mild rub in that spot even when stock on 255's on my stock 220's. Just doesn't like a tall tire up front. Spacer might help but that's not much rub, it'll fix itself eventually heh

y u no 4" single, u some kinna coward

I bet it'd be significantly quieter just going straight out with two 2.5's. That gradually expanding shape is on trumpets and tubas and french horns for a reason. You have fabricated two very cool-looking and uber-lightweight directional megaphones for a car that runs on 4000 explosions per minute. *hat tip* my complements to the chef
