The hardline nuts on the brake lines are seized pretty well so I stripped both sides trying to take them off. That’ll be a fun future expense to fix.
Since I couldn’t install the stock caliper, I just went with the stock rotors with ST60 calipers and the street pads I don’t care about. No steering wheel shaking under braking so it looks like it’s some odd rotor issue. Who tests/rebuilds ST rotors? New rotor and hat are around 700 which I’d like to avoid spending.

Not sure how I missed it since I was 99% sure that I switched to the street pads at some point, but no. Reinstalling the StopTech rotors with street pads, no wheel vibrations. Something very odd is going on with the XP20 pads that is causing the vibrations, either with the pad itself or the high torque exacerbating something I've overlooked that's loose (which I've run out of things to replace). The good news is that with all the front control arms that I've replaced, the car feel very good and so much more responsive in the corners.

I have a towing question that I can't find a good answer for.
I finally bought my own trailer ball mount and trailer ball after getting tired of borrowing one all the time. The ball says it has to be torqued to 450 ft-lbs in the mount! I have no clue how to do this...I certainly don't have a torque wrench rated that high, nor do I even know how to apply that much torque to it in the first place. It's a forged, solid ball mount by Curt and the ball itself is also by Curt.

Finally broke one of my enkei nt03+m. Cracked a spoke through…well my friend did while I was ripping his GT3RS. The only pcars I’ve driven now are 991.2 GT2RS and GT3RS…on track…with no adult supervision. I have no idea how I got so spoiled.

In the past, I’ve seen shops just go as hard as they can on these kinds of things with a long crescent wrench…..sometimes they still come loose. The side bolts on my Equalizer hitch go to 320 ft lbs and the ball is 430 ft lbs. Last year, before owning the big wrench, I had the unpleasant discovery that one of the Equalizer hitch side bolts someone had tried to tighten with a crescent was loose. That was it. I bought the wrench and haven’t looked back. No problems since. |

Asked around and everyone basically said you'll never get it to 450 foot-pounds -- it's not going to fail if you do less, especially since you're only towing to about half of its rated strength.
I'll just get a big fucking crescent wrench and crank on it.

Well, I bought a new tow rig this weekend, but I think the tow rig might be faster than the track rig. This thing is wild lol.

i've heard rumors of the cherokee trackhawk and durango hellcat going for about $10k under msrp. any truth to that? i can't see people lining up to buy these with gas prices what they are.

0 truth to that, most hellcat Durangos are going for 10-30k over MSRP, not one of them in the country is listed for less than 10k over sticker. Can't speak on new trackhawks, but 2018's are 90-95k right now

gas is $5 a gallon here now. a kilowatt is $0.13 and i just need 16 kilowatts to get to the gym, work, and back. all that aside, i'd love a cherokee trackhawk. we've been happy with our v8 cherokee, and doubling down on the power would be great. oh, and the highest we have is shitty california 91 octane.
