How long did it take u to pull the trigger on this car?

when you first decided u wanted or needed a new car, how long did it take to settle on the M?

i know its probably pointless but this poll is just to satisfy my own curiosity.

thx for participating

I didn't need a new car...just wanted one. Figured out the price range, then drove what was in the class. (just to rule them out, I already knew I wanted the M3-but since I hadn't driven the other cars in that price range I figured I had a reason to now)

If I put it in numbers, I would say 3 months.

M3

What would prevent you from pulling the trigger on the M?

1 day. First test drove a Lexus IS-F, but the sales guy would only let me putter around the block. Came away unimpressed. Then, went to a BMW dealer where the sales guy let me roar onto a freeway and onto a newly-built 5 lane highway (it was almost an 8 mile test drive on a brand new M3) and I was sold.

I always loved M... I did not take more than a day to decide on an M, but it took me about two years to afford to pay it in full. So I watch other drive an M around for over two years knowing I could finance an M but waited until I could pay it in full.

The M is a beautiful machine.

Emailed a S/A, twice in 2 weeks, got a phone call from another S/A saying the original guy moved......then, in 16.5 minutes, I ordered and placed a deposit.

1 week. The client advisor just handed me the key to the M and let me drive it. He didnt even come along for the test drive. Took my license look at it, handed back to me and said "here you go, just try to take it easy on her, she's brand new". That was great service. But after I placed the order everything went down hill. I placed the order for a E90 ($70,000) 4 weeks ago and it still show on order at the bmwusa web site. Called the 1-800 # and still no confirm date. Call my "ca" and he said everything is ok "what does ok mean?". I'm about to cancel this order very soon and get my $1000 deposit back and order from someone else.
