I just did this. Love the way it looks. Got really sick of the car looking modified and now it just looks perfect. Using a 5mm spacer in the back just to Even it out a bit. Will try to get some pics soon.

The steering response on the 275/30 is great even with the mold release still on.

But compared to my (worn) 285/40-17 17x10 setup, NINE POUNDS heavier per wheel. The 17’s are close to the wear bars so apples to apples with new tires, it’s more like 7lb heavier as they were about 45lb new. But still. 36lb of wheel weight added back to the car. At least the new tire is shorter for a little better gearing.

The things we do for fashion.

Just thought I would add some additional insight here. I purchased 2 rear OEM 19x9.5 style 220M wheels, mounted 255/35/19 continental sportcontact 6 tires and installed them up front on a 2008 E93 M3. They look great and seem to fit fine. There is no poke at all - i would estimate that they would need to be pushed out about 3mm to be flush with the fenders so they are nearly flush. I am running Eibach springs up front for reference but had the OEM spring on with this same setup and it was fine and honestly looked about the same. Looks good.
