the point is to find the best size tire to run square on 19x10 ZCP wheels and ZCP suspension. 265/35/19 rubs on the front, 275/30 sidewall is 1/2" shorter than stock, 285/30 has the best all around measurement to run square. If its going to tramline badly, then its no good for street use. i just feel its a waste to run staggered tires on square wheels.

The 285’s will rub the fender liners a lot. Already some light rub on the rear of the liners with the 275’s on my car, 275/30-19 square ps4s on 220M rears. Narrower shorter tire and narrower wheel

Just run the 275’s and use a small spacer in rear 5-12mm if you are worried about looks. If you’re worried about performance, non issue unless you’re supercharged. If anything the gearing difference will help the car accelerate a bit quicker

Stock 265/35-19 rears, worn by 4/32”, are about 25.9” in diameter. New 275/30-19 = 25.5-25.6” depending on the tire.

I don’t know about tramlining. I’ve found that’s a lot more tire and alignment dependent than width dependent on these cars. 275 front hankook Rs3’s tramlined like crazy on my car, for instance, and the Pss didn’t at all same size, same wheel, same alignment etc.

One thing that does cause tramlining is uneven wear from being unable to rotate. I’ve had 245’s on stock width wheels tramline like crazy at the end of their life because camber/toe wear

Tire sizes I have tried:
F:
245/40-18
245/35-19
255/35-19
265/35-18
275/35-18
285/35-18
285/40-17
295/30-18

R:
265/40-18
265/35-19
275/35-19
275/35-18
275/40-18
285/35-18
285/40-17
275/30-19
295/30-18
295/35-18
315/30-18

So I have some lived experience in this area, lolol

I have no tram-lining with my 275s on a 10" wide wheel. To be frank the car feels so planted the way it is with the 275/295 setup, it feels unflappable. I let my brother drive the car and saw it going down the street, it really looks so good with this setup. Anymore and I feel it will be come cartoonish.

oh, AND

I used to think this car needed staggered tires because, well, why give up all that real estate in back just to rotate tires?

Now I'm not so sure. Maybe if you have aero and you are able to set the car up around a big fat rear tire and really use it to fullest advantage, or have an extra 150hp

But now that I've lived with several different square and staggered setups I'm pretty well convinced that 275's square on a 9.5 if you want rim protection and a 10 if you don't is the hot streetable but better than stock ticket...so basically I've caught up to what everyone already knew 100 years ago...lol

It pains me to say it because the setups like Dave has are soooooo awesome to look at, but you can't see the rear tires when you're driving and these cars just don't make much torque and need a lot more help up front than in the rear on modern tires like the PS4S that just do EVERYTHING so well

very good arguement for 275/30/19. i am having a very hard time deciding between 275/30/19 square, and 255/35F 275/35R staggered. I suppose i wouldnt care so much if i hadnt just blown a bunch of $$$$ on Karbonius and a Varis wing. now i have to get the tires correct on the first shot, or i will be stuck for while with a setup im not happy with. first world problems...

Here's what they look like on 220M's square, with a 5mm rear spacer.

This is stock rear ZCP springs with Sachs performance shocks and Sachs front coilovers at 5-6mm lower than stock ZCP front height. 2.4 degrees up front, 1.7 in the rear

I don't think you'll like how stretched the 255's look if you're using them on 10's, and you'll definitely hate them after you curb the shit out of your front wheels. I think they're about equally likely to rub a bit as the shorter, but wider, 275's but I've never tried the 255 on a 10 only on an 8.5

And no I'm not hard parked that's a corner space

Looks great...

BTW, you can't see the big old 295s out back with the 11s, but you can sure feel there is a lot of rubber underneath you.

bumping this back up...

i ran 275/30/19 square on my 19x10 et25 wheels for a little over 2 years. No tramlining at all, really enjoyed the neutral feel of the car. Ran a 10mm spacer on the rear as well just for looks, no rubbing front or rear at all even on shitty San Francisco bay area roads.

Currently i am running 255/35F and 275/35R on 19x9.5/10.5. its ok, but i do miss the square setup. Thats what brings me full circle back here again...

After 3 years of looking and buying/holding sets of staggered wheels in hopes of finding another, i FINALLY have a square set of BBS CH 19x10 et20. I am revisiting the possibility of running 285/30/19 square. Currently i test fitted the 19x10 et20 on the front with a Mich PSS 275/30/19, and with -2.7camber it looks like i can squeeze 10mm more tire.

Now you might be asking, Why?? The reason is that i always felt the 275/30/19 looked too small. i just couldn't get over thats undersized look. So i think im going to pull the trigger, attached is a picture showing the fitment on the front currently.

one more note, the current PSS 275/30/19 has a date code from 9years ago, so i will not be driving on these at all. Also i am looking at running the new Advan v601 tire, which is not offered in 275/30/19, only 285/30/19.

Did you ever run the 285/30/19 up front?
