2009 Enhanced premium sound - No bass drivers side
Today while driving home from work I noticed that the drivers side bank of my stereo no longer has any bass; I confirmed this via EQ tweaking. Passenger side seems to be unaffected. Doubtful is just a sub issue as its both front and back being affected.
My guess is that it's water damage to the amp, it's rained A LOT the past few days. Going to pull things apart tomorrow to check it out. Assuming the amp is the culprit what viable options do I have? I could pick up a used EPS amp and stick with OEM stuff. However I'd be willing to go the aftermarket route. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Last edited by Strick; 07-02-2015 at 11:06 PM.. |

Removed the amp today to do a visual inspection and everything seems to look alright. No water damage, no bad capacitors etc.
I wish I knew how to diagnose a bad amp myself. I'd feel really bad dropping $600+ to replace this thing if the culprit was a bad solder connection or something stupid of that nature. Are there any shops/people that are able to diagnose and repair this? |

I think I'm having the same problem. Though I turned the radio up one day put my hand on each of the EPS speakers and found no vibration on the drivers rear speaker. I ordered a new one from ECS (they're on sale) and plan to install today or tomorrow hopefully that solves it

Here's the link I used to replace the speakers
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=672734 Maybe take a look and see if the speakers themselves are blown might save you money going after the amp if that's not the prob |

Took the woofer out today and discovered one of the leads going into the magnet was broken. Pain in the ass soldering it, but luckily all is well.
I must say this much, I'm shocked it was just the sub. Sounded like much more was missing, surprised at how much sound it puts out... Now I'm really thinking of tossing in a set of sws 8s under the seats and a nice 10 in the trunk. I haven't had a sub since highschool days... |

I lost bass on both subwoofers.
It comes and goes randomly while driving. You think it could be the subwoofer leads on both sides went out? I went through the hassle of replacing the amp and it was not that. You have to remove the seats to get to the sub?

I think so. The vibration probably puts the leads in and out of contact. Yea seat has to come out. Four torx t50 bolts and a regular torx bit set to get the rest out

I have a similar issue that popped up over the weekend.
Tweaking with the EQ settings and moving sound around the car (left, right, rear, etc) to isolate a particular speaker I notice there is no bass when all audio is on the left side(driver side). i also noticed my front center speaker sounds like its blown(statick-y when playing back some sounds). not sure if speaker or amp related. before i go through ordering speakers and/or replacing the amp(last resort). anything else i can check for. could the radio have been played so loud that a lead on the left sub broke AND the center speaker was blown? only reason i bring that up is the car was at a shop over the weekend |

My driver side went out as well. Replaced both driver and passenger with the subs from my old e92 with logic 7. Also replaced the center speaker on the dash as well. It sounds sooooo much better now.
