I don't have any pictures but there is another way to find out....

I think most people would like the gold wheels on any color car (my friends who saw them on my car all think I'm crazy for selling them). I personnally think they would look best on a white, black, red, green, or blue car. I think they look especially good with dark colors.

I'm a huge fan of BBS wheels but don't know anything about these, why are they so expensive again?

Is it for lightness? They look kind of like LM's, the 18's look a bit too small for a step lip, did you buy these to track?

I'm just trying to understand these wheels vs. say the FI's which were my next set of rims for my F80 m3....

Thanks for asking; those are great questions. Compareing LM's to these is like comparing an M3 to the M3 GT4. Both great but the performance of the GT4 destroys the M3. The FI's are a personal favorite of mine but keep in mind they cost $8000 and you are stuck with BBS's off the shelf specs (which suck in the 19" version). The E88's are special because....

Racing Pedigree:
These are from the BBS Motorsports department which is separate from their street wheel department. BBS Motorsports makes custom wheels for numerous racing teams including BMW RLL team, the new Turner Motorsports Z4, Risi Ferrari etc. The E88's are an evolution of a classic BBS design that's been around for decades. It's the same wheel that is found on the Daytona Prototype cars as well as the 911 Cup cars (the latest version of the cup cars have a slightly different wheel design with similar construction). Simply put there is not a wheel in existence with better racing pedigree than the BBS e88 (or it's many variations).

Look Familiar?

Customization:
The E88's and other multi-piece iterations sold by BBS Motorsports are custom made to the owner's specifications. BBS's street wheels are only available in off the shelf offsets and widths which frankly are often not logical. Many of BBS's street wheels are not available in specs that interest me. For example the 19" FI's have useless offsets and the 19" LM-R's are not available in anything wider than 10".

Repairable:
BBS Motorsports wheels are the only wheels that BBS sells replacement parts allowing for easy repairs (BBS does not sell parts for their LM's, LM-R's, etc). BBS will sell you lips, barrels or even new centers. This is a huge bonus and adds a ton of practicality to these wheels. Damage a BBS LM, FI or LM-R... buy a whole new wheel ($1300 to $2000). Damage a lip on an E88... buy a new lip ($220).

Quality:
Look closely at the pictures. The E88 has back milled spokes to minimize weight and the detailing on the centers is phenomenal. The centers and lips are fully forged and these are known to be a very strong wheel. Their weight is not super impressive (22 lbs) but they are again very strong and the build quality is second to none.

I'm just worried that it would look too "STI-ish" as I was never really a fan of the stock gold wheels on the blue ones. If I end up selling my HRE's soon, I'll be in contact with you. (if you still have these beautiful wheels)

I personally don't think it would look STI-ish. These wheels are simply in a different class than anything put on an STI. Gold is the classic BBS color for these wheels. At my price you could have them refinished any color you desire and they still would be cheaper than buying them new.

Sti-ish??? That's laughable... Maybe to the average schmoe who doesn't have a clue. To anyone in the know, these are far from anything that an sti owner would ever install. No offense to subby owners

I am in no way shape or form comparing these to anything put on an STI. I used the term "STI-ish" in reference to a known example of a blue on gold color scheme that I was not a fan of. Obviously subaru blue and interlagos blue are quite different so I would have to see gold on IB to get a better idea in my head as I couldn't visualize it.
