No photo, but I installed a new right side lower engine cover after the one I had (then) recently installed was knocked off thanks to road debris on I-45 north of Houston a couple of years ago. Amazingly the screws were all still there. Stupid hard felt pieces are expensive for what they are.

I replaced my exhaust tips because the original tips I had were fading.
I installed the pedal Haus kit as well!

Nice
Quick question - Does our Power Box Distributor fit right over top and did you need to get anything installed on the bottom of the battery for it to sit in place to the existing area?

It's an opportunity to do some serious preventative maintenance aka Throttle Actuators, Fuel Tank breather valve, spark plugs, injectors, idle speed correction valve (ICV), Valve covers and gaskets, and that differential pressure sensor and connector below the brake servo that no DIY exits for - yet..... etc. Sub'd to your YouTube channel as well.

It's a Group-49 (size dimensions) battery so it should be plug and play.

It is not, it’s Melbourne Red as I do not believe we received any Japan Red cars to the U.S. / Canada but I am sure someone can correct me if I am wrong.

StealthnShadow I chose H8/Group-49 60Ah; perfect OE fitment
  • 1:1 sizing for install; essentially PnP as DrFerry mentioned
  • ~30 min to complete w/ batt registration
  • Selected AGM 90Ah - Closest available registration setting given E cars have no DME provision for Li batts; big plus - AG batts have a proven BMS to ensure no electrical issues arise.
Debated going with H6/Group-48 [marginal comparative weight savings], which will work/fit as well; however, jus didn't wanna deal with ANY fitment issues ==> drop-in, code & go!

So-far so good...maybe gained +10bhp too

A bit late but I recently installed Genuine BMW CF splitters/mirror caps. Finally got around to taking some shots before I dropped her off for an oil pan replacement (bimmerworld pan with dip stick) and a second rod bearings service (BE/ARP combo this time around). The dealer replaced them 6 years ago under warranty with OEM bearings, curious to see how they look!

You had bearings replaced under warranty? What was the circumstance behind the dealer coverage? How many miles on the replacement OEM ones? Would be good insight for others if you could post pics of the bearings when you replace them along with a description of your driving habits. The way you warm up the car, etc.

CF bits looking good

It was a third party warranty from AutoNation Toyota South Austin where I purchased the car in 2018. The warranty was a Silver High Mileage Warranty since the car had 103,706 miles at the time (it now has 155,455).

Almost a year later of ownership in 2019, I took it to Bavarian Auto Repair for a routine oil change and I provided a Blackstone sample kit. Upon picking the car up, the tech mentioned he saw “a lot” of metal flakes. I immediately took it back to the dealership who then called my warranty company. They mentioned it was a long shot and they’ve never seen rod bearings replaced under warranty at the dealership. Luckily, it got approved among MANY other repairs. The service advisor at the dealer asked if I wanted aftermarket bearings instead of OEM. Since the BE bearings were sold out everywhere and it’s my daily driver (couldn’t wait longer), I went with OEM bearings at no cost. In hindsight, I should’ve looked into other aftermarket bearings that were on the market. This initial rod bearing service was done at 115,622 miles. I didn’t know any better at the time and should’ve asked for pictures of the bearings.

Driving habits: I ‘almost always’ allow her to warm up at least 90-120 seconds before I hit the road depending on environment (pretty much once the cold start dies down). I’ve lived in 3 different states during ownership. One of which was Maryland so the car warmed up 2-4 min longer while I was scrubbing ice off the windshield and shoveling any snow out of the way during winter months. Outside of that, it’s ‘almost always’ 90-120 seconds then I hit the road and I always keep the RPMs under 3k until optimal temp. I don’t track, I don’t drive it like I stole it everyday, but like many others I do enjoy some spirited driving when I get a chance on open roads. I’m now in stop/go traffic most of the time during my work commute.

The tech who worked on my car mentioned it looks like “normal wear, if there is such a thing.” Would appreciate y’all’s thoughts on how they look.

Embarrassed to mention this but I hydrolocked my car like a complete idiot about 3 months ago. Thankfully a local shop in town revived her with a few oil changes.

Those were lci bearings. Decent wear for 40k miles but I've seen worse on here with less miles. This was my single owner pre lci bearings with 19k miles

That warranty came in clutch. You definitely got your money's worth lol what else was done?

Flashed with Alex engine tune today. Brief run in below zero temp - when it goes like crazy anyhow - I'll get back in the Alex thread after some more driving. Feels good though.
Will load the DCT tune later.

Good fun!
