I hear a brake job on that car including rotors costs 30k!
Any car with ccb's will cost you atleast $20k but they never need replacing unless you track it heavily...

Yah they check the wear level by weighing them

I agree with this statement. However extensive mods to this platform add up to a the type of car most likely leave stock (except perhaps wheels). I was fortunate to have been trolling BAT and had to try. The car was done exactly as I would have done it if money was not a concern. It had a $70k MSRP and over $20k in mods (I have all of his receipts) without labor. Those numbers added up can buy some pretty serious cars.

Lucky for me the previous owner realized the same thing once he completed the build and ultimately traded it for a R8 V10.

I will say without hesitation these cars are awesome with extensive mods!

My only mods...upgrading to LCI tail lights and window tint (it gets hot in Texas) all other cash flow goes towards maintenance (i.e. rod bearings and everything else Murphy's law has thrown at me).

When cars are new people have no problem modding and I do some light modding myself but will always stop short of anything that isn't reversible. I also make a point to keep original equipment with the car in the hopes it can be returned to OEM one day-something difficult when dealers are involved. Interesting on my older collector cars I've spent quite a bit of money to get them back to fully original condition, even going as far to buy OEM cassette radios to re-install. Originality is key for collectors. I'm sure they'll be plenty of folks in 2040 hunting for OEM E92 ZCP wheels, exhausts, front reflectors, etc.

I agree with you! And I'm going to try and keep my e90 M for literally as long as possible while keeping her as healthy as possible! I adore this car and can't ever think of letting it go.. ever
