18in wheels or 19in on e92 m3 ?

What would you guys choose and why ? Would you feel the difference of smaller (18) wheels? Comfort or performance wise? Do 19s just look way better?

Just for imagination sake, picture hyper silver arc-8s

I have OEM ZCP wheels right now. When I buy aftermarket, I plan on buying 18 inch wheels with some meaty tires.

For two reasons, because I think a lot of aftermarket wheels look a little too big in 19 inch size on our car. And the 18 inch wheels with meaty tires will offer a smoother ride quality.

thinking the same PKL, I have zcp reps that came with my car currently, look great (indistinguishable from oem almost) but I suspect they've got some bumps. NY NJ NYC roads are ROUGH to say the least. Was really considering stepping down to 18s

18's have a lot more options for tires and not to mention cheaper too. I prefer the meaty tire look as well.

Depends on the wheel. Some look good in 18, others in 19. For my Apexs I run 18 to fit more meat.

I use 18s. Better ride. Cheaper tires. You can fit a little wider tire.

18s all day. First m3 came stock with the 220s and then aftermarket 19s there after. my second came with 219s and my aftermarket wheels have been laying in my garage ever since. MUCH smoother ride, a little less worry about potholes etc. the next set of wheels i get will definitely be 18s

I went 19's and I plan on going to 18's. Better compliance for me for street use.

^^ It's truly unfair. Some potholes, including one i just bumped into tonight, feel like I'm falling into them. Like I'm smacking the control arm. Just unfair. And unavoidable. Unless there's no one in the other lane and you cross over the lines, assuming you've hit the hole before and are anticipating it.

19's despite what other people say have way more Tire options than 18's. The ps4s doesn't come in anything bigger than 285 when it's for an 18 wheel. I have te37sl and I think they look 10x better in 19 than 18. If you're just tracking it then 18 sure. Comfort wise suspension parts like coilovers make a much bigger difference than the half inch of extra tire absorbing the shock. 19's all day

^^ you think a street coilover setup would be more comfortable than oem spring + shock (non edc) set up? It's pretty jarring on NY roads stock

I also have OEM ZCP 359M wheels. I think they are the best looking OEM wheels, but I would prefer the ride quality of 18" wheels. I actually don't mind the feel of a car moving around a little on the tyre sidewalls. I might try to borrow some 18s one day and see what my own car feels like.

At least the OEM 219M/260M 18" wheels are more attractive than the 220M 19". I've only ever seen 260M is Ferric Grey although I understand they changed to Silver in 2010.

Unless you have an aesthetic allegiance to larger wheels, go with the smallest possible wheel that clears your brakes and offers a tire that fits your needs. Usually this ends up being an 18" wheel, although many do run our 17s since they clear stock brakes. It's not a bad look either:

Trying to look for help and inspiration led me here. Have an a 2007 e92 M3 standard wheels 19inch I think they’re the 220m style if that makes any sense to anyone. Want to go down to 18s but don’t want to lose tyre/sidewall so not sure what sizes tyre wise to go for. Looking at staggered 8.5/9.5J respectively anyone have any idea give a good figment at standard rideheight? Also not sure on offset but reckon I’ll need spacers?

Thanks in advance!
