Suspension noise after replacing brakes and sway bar end links, any ideas?
I recently serviced my brakes and replaced the sway bar end links to resolve a clunk I was getting while driving at low speed. Somehow, even after double checking the fitment, the clunking noises persist even worse than before. It happens mostly when going over bumps while turning but now I am also getting a creaking/rattling while going over sewer caps and bumps in the road at ~20 mph.
I'm thinking it could be the sway bar but I'm wondering if anyone has any better ideas? |

Don't guess.
Check for play in all suspension components.

What exactly does "service the brakes" mean?
I ask because I recently had a clunking noise right after installing some track specific brake pads I'd never used before. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/T4467OXzGbU The new pads for the rear didn't have the sheet metal anti rattle tabs, so every time the car went over an imperfection in the road the rear pads would rattle around. Went home after the test drive, re-installed the old pads, the noise disappeared. Hopefully your noise is something simple.

After having some time to think I'm just going to replace the stabilizer bar bushings, since they're cheap and relatively simple. That being said I'm open to other suggestions. |

My thought is a failure in one or both of the stabilizer bar bushings has been accentuated by the new and not broken end links. Only one of the end links was fully deteriorated when I removed the old ones, so when I replaced it perhaps the new one added tension to that side of the stabilizer bar and thus the bushing, making it more noisy. Or maybe I just have no clue what I'm talking about but that's why I'm here lol. |
