A question about the pano roof: did you swap the whole unit or just the roller shade part?
That is, if I want a black (anthracite) headliner in my E91, do I just need to get the headliner re-upholstered and swap the roller shade from an E84 with a black headliner?
I don't see the roller shade as a separate part number.

Also, are the door mirrors from the donor E92 and somehow fabricated to fit or did you source E90 units separately?

The sunshade panels comes out, you have to pull the glass out to get to it but it's doable. I had the full headliner and panels reupholster at a shop. Funny you ask about this, I just a few minutes ago had all the pieces out to finally install the individual roof speakers. Holy fuck did it absolutely complete the sound system. I am so happy with it!

The mirrors are sedan M3

The glass coming out bit is not what I was hoping to hear. But it gives me an idea. Thanks!

How about the door mirrors?

It's 4 torx screws and they pop right out. Then it's 8 more small pan screws and 4 spring clips between the frame rail and sunshade.

Door mirrors are e90 M3

Do it! Especially with a full undamaged front clip!

Awesome write up, very interesting built. Few months back I bought your twin car, just 6speed, 50K miles. Im following closely your interior conversion to get away from Oyster ASAP,
you mentioned rear door cards being plug and play, is there any key differences in rear door itself??? parts numbers are different so you really surprised me cards being same, my rear door has bad dent and Im looking everywhere hoping to find replacement,

The interior door panels/cards are the same. It's the door shell itself that is different. Looks at the upper part and windiw shape between sedan and touring.
You'll need to find a door from a Touring.

In the charts below you can see the following charts. These are the body brackets you need to weld in.

Body side frame: 11, 12, 13
Front body bracket left and right: 22
Front side panel mounting parts: 9,16
I have been seeing that front side panel mounting part 9 is for the e92 chassis m3 and only 16 is used to mount the front fender at the bottom where it runs into the side skirt on e90 m3. Did you have to massage this area to get bracket 16 to work on the e91? I feel like there are two brackets UNDER part 16 to make the m3 fenders work on the e90/e91 chassis.

Ps. Curious as currently sorting the same thing on mine.

I actually never noticed that in the photo, but I just went out and rotated the engine looking at the caps through the oil cap hole and it's all flush now. I can ask mad1stgen if he did anything specific to it?

Yeah looks fine here, but clearly rotated on your old picture. Guess someone pulled them in place. Mine been done today, will get back with more info next week in the "vanos by Slonik" thread.

I know this is 2 years later, but I"ve been obsessing over your thread and have a ton of questions lol.

M3 mirrors: are those e90 m3 mirrors or your originals with m3 look-a-like caps?

Brake swap: Do you have a reference thread that you followed to execute this swap?

Reason for sport seats vs. m3 seats?

They are E90 M3 mirrors. You can see the painted M3 mirror caps in some pictures. They are a direct swap for any non-M3 E90 or E91. E92 mirrors use a different base and will only work on a non-M coupe.

The brake swap can be done with kits sold through two members here. There are several threads covering the topic. The front is relatively plug-and-play the rear requires a fair amount of trimming to the rear carrier or swapping to the E9X rear carrier and clearance of the rear F8X calipers.

The seats posted are E90 M3 seats, not sport seats.
