Anyway to tell if my M3 E92 ZCP already has the DCT GTS SW?

As thread title states.
Is there anyway to tell of the previous owner has had the DCT GTS SW done to it already?

I have an inclin that is has. Because everyone is talking about the car starting up in D (Auto) rather than S (Semi). Mine has always started up in D mode.

Thanks

Your senses are correct, if it's starts in D then you have a GTS DCT tune

Launch control is at like 3500 instead, and actually hooks up instead of spinning the tires for a few seconds. I think Euro and the US tunes are 4500-5500.

Drive for a few miles, get to a flat empty spot, traction control off, S6, push the DCT knob all the way forward and hold it until a flag comes up in the gauge cluster, and press in the gas. It won't launch unless you hit and hold the kick down, so you can just let off the gas after seeing where the cutoff is.

I find this more reliable than the other methods.

Well, it has someone's aftermarket tune. Most of them are based on the GTS one.

Yeah, I double checked. First tap right on the knob it goes to (1D),2nd tap, it goes to (1).

Thats kind of ashame really, because I the car suffers from clunky gearbox. Especially when slowing down to a stop in either full auto or semi when letting it down gear itself.
I was gonna try gts dct to see if it fixed it.

Its quite likely the car also has ECU tune also then since the went to the trouble of doing dct.
Also I believe it has coding too. Because it has always had the digital speedo bit V=xx kmph in thedash.

Anyway to confirm 100% using carly?

GTS and Euro DCT Flash will both default to D2 when clicked to the right. If you have the raw gts flash you can check in INPA UIF. If it's from one of the tuners out there there's no real way to 100% know if it's the gts or euro flash since most are flashed through bitflash which does not update UIF in any software.

As stated above, you can have the stock EURO software, which also starts at D, instead of S. So not 100% sign that you have the GTS tune.

You can confirm the coding through Carly, but you don't need to. If those are enabled, then it's almost definitely been coded.

first right movement of the stick, puts it in 1D speed 2.. most likely GTS tuned. mine does that.

I have tried all 3, and yes, they both go to D2. While it seems counterintuitive, I find that the GTS tune is the smoothest and even the best for daily driving. It is more intelligent about letting the engine / revs 'fall' into the next gear when you're not driving hard instead of slamming into the next gear at low speeds.

Again, launch control for GTS is the only one in the 3000s.... try it out...

Agree 100%
I manually shifted my car all the time until I got the GTS software, much more than just harder full throttle shifts, much better proper gear selection and smoothness in auto mode.
