Japan Red E92 M3 KA401

After hearing so many customer cars with the Eventuri Plenum we felt like we were missing out so we wanted to get into another E92 M3 (this is our 4th over the years) so we could experience the drive and induction sound whenever we desired.

After months of searching for one of these cars (dubbed KA401 in the UK) we were approached by an owner who was interested in selling his. He brought the car down to us. After a detailed look over it and a short drive a deal was done.

The KA401 refers to the individual code given to this limited run of UK Competition Pack/ZCP cars which all had the same following specification the highlights being the vibrant Japan Red exterior colour and extended black leather with contrasting red stitching.

The colour really pops and is much brighter than Melbourne or Imola Red.

Not going to go too crazy on this one. Plans are as follows:

Eventuri Plenum, Intake and Airbox Lid in Matte finish.
Evolve X Pipe
Evolve Stage 2 ECU Tune
GTS DCT SW

We may be tempted to design some aero for it under our new brand Evaero as there seems to be some demand for high quality parts for this platform.

Yeeeess. Welcome back to the club. Can't wait to see the work you all do. And more videos please. Great car and even better color. Might be my favorite red I've seen on this platform.

Incredible specimen. Reminds me of when EAG had a Japan red E46 M3 which i was in love with. IMOLA is more of a cherry red and Japan is more of a tomato red.

We plan to keep the exterior as is except the BMW M Performance Carbon Front Flippers and Rear Lip Spoiler until we design some subtle adds on ourselves.

Yes Imola is much deeper in colour where Japan Red is bright and vibrant.

We have a Imola E39 M5 too - not sure where the love for red BMW's has crept in from!

A lot of requests for some carbon aero parts so we may do something. I think a smaller version of the GT4 splitter would work.

Interested to see the progress, I am really enjoying all the E9X M3 content on your channel lately.

Perhaps you can do a video explaining OEM muffler modification (2 pipe, 2.5 pipe, 4 pipe, etc).

Congrats on a beautiful E92 M3 in Japan Red! Stunning individual color ...

I have really enjoyed your videos, specifically the one you did on rod bearings:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUzwmryKu9A

You mention this car has 68k miles and you will be doing the rod bearings, but with BE bearings back ordered, will you wait or use VAC bearings or another option? Will you use ARP bolts?

My car is just under 80k, and I am on a list to be called when BE bearings come in, but I have heard positive comments on VAC bearings and they are much less in price so I'm interested in hearing your opinion

Thanks for clarifying and apparently I made an assumption and missed completely that "we use OEM rod bearings" from your video

I can see some additional research is in my immediate future

Finally got round to fitting Eventuri Plenum/Intake/Airbox Lid in a lovely Matte finish and also some BMW M Performance front flippers and rear spoiler. Excuse the mess at the back - just in the process of constructing our new dyno cell!

Just need some nice weather to go and enjoy the sound. Maybe April?
