My first time at SMMR. Great time with BMWCCA. Epic track!!

Constructive criticism is encouraged

Great vid and love all that data you get mixed with the GoPro vid.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

very nice first lap there Terry. too bad you got stuck behing the other car on the next lap.

i thought bmwcca was uber anal about no timing devices at their DE's. not sure where I saw that, but I was thinking it would be a bummer to not run data at COTA in March.

Hey Scott, In this day any age it is my understanding that you can use these devices in a passive manner. As you know the DL coupled with video is a great post coaching/learning tool.

I had the solo attached to the side and was not using any of the timing/predictive features. It was set up on page that displays, water & oil temps, rpm and speed. I was not actively using it, just logging data for post eval. I was not driving for time or against the clock but I did need to log my throttle and brake actions to analyze later. The same goes with the M Laptimer that I was also using. It was just recording data passively like my GoPro.

What tlp said above is true. As long as you can't see the timer, its allowed.
As we can all see, there is a TON to learn from after the event.

Great lines. I would just say you can go even farther on the apex on those berms, but really good stuff!

It was awesome getting to meet aus, tlp and the guys. These instructors were highly professional and some of them brought their racing experience to the HPDE. SMMR is definitely a painful track to run, but highly rewarding the more you drive it.. It never gets boring. Really hope I get a chance to run with you guys in the near future. It's my turn to get back on my quest of running as many tracks as I can over the next few years. Made to Fontana and WSIR. Buttonwillow and chuckwalla is next. I'm really eyeballs the COTA event in march. Figuring out how to get my car there
Have a newer found respect for the BMWCCA!!!!!!!
