How tall are you? Sounds like a funny question, but if you're 5'10"+ you won't be comfortable in the Ferrari. A few friends have them at at 6'2" I'm quite uncomfortable in the car. Build quality is pretty cheap on the interior- many rattles, sqeaks, and loose parts (particularly the door pulls), window buttons fade, seats wear at a very rapid rate. With that said.....the sound of the Ferrari V8 is utterly intoxicating.

Drive it...longer that 10 minutes.

Hope the Evo X treats you better than the STi! Did you get the DCT on the Evo? I don't recall which model got the DCT option.

Thanks yeah it's actually usable. I'll have no problem racing it at it limits or taking it to run errands. Not so with the Ferrari.

Yup. Seems to be the case with most supercars? Maybe the LFA or SLS Black Series would be the exception.

That's what I figured. I'd like an F-car someday and perhaps I won't need to compromise and I can get the one I want. For now I'm totally stoked! This thing is a beast and 100% stock with a warranty!!

haha I did see the top gear vid of ithe F430 test drive and that's the first thing that came to mind actually. I'm 6'0" so it would have been a very tight fit but but in the end I didn't even get the chance to test drive as I ended up with the P-car.

Just tried a stock F430 on Forza Motorsports @ Laguna Seca and couldn't break into the 1:42's ballz out no fear. Your real world 1:40 is crazy.

Haha. It's just a lot of practice at the same track. I'm slow at all the other tracks.

You are being too modest. I crashed 20 times before I hit the 1:43:XX on a clean lap.

Thanks! I don't think there was a manual option on the 997.2 (2011-2013) Turbo S.

Yeah hopefully the story wont repeat it self and I'll be able to keep it stock! Lol I gotta say I'm happily surprised of the power delivery of this car, it is stock and still the boost comes in a very aggresive way! A lot more fun then I was expecting from a 290hp engine!!

And yes it's the dual cluth tranny, that too is really fun, almost makes me regreat not having it in the M3!

Can't wait to see the first video of your 911 in action, congrats again on such a dream car!!

I saw the car you're buying on Cars.com and I think you can get a better deal (yours has close to 25k miles and is $132k).
This one is $134,500 but only has 8100 miles.
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

This one is $129,800 with 7,750 miles
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

This one is the exact same as yours but with 13k miles at $125k
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

And this one is just nuts but too race car, lol.

I've driven the 430's / scuderia and I have a supercharged m3. I can say if you don't mind the attention and high maintenance cost then ferrari's are amazing to own. You could drive them daily if you wanted to. They're very comfortable compared to some of the other exotics out there.

I would prefer the scuderia over the base model 430. They're a lot lighter / faster. If you're on a budget and want a super car the a regular 430 you can pick up for 110k - 125k with decent mileage.

*edit.. whoa congrats on the 997! way better choice ! lol

Congrats! The 997.2 Turbo S is one beast of a car. And no, there was no manual option for the Turbo S. It only came with the PDK.

Thx yeah I researched all the 997.2 Turbo S models currently for sale in the country. This is the exact build spec I wanted and was only 80 miles from my house.

I checked the car thoroughly (particularly underneath the car) for tell-tale signs of tracking/abuse. Nada.

It has high miles as it was someone's DD. The higher mileage worked to my advantage in the negotiations process. Plus, the car has a 100,000 factory warranty until October 2016 so the mileage not a big deal. That and my airline ticket for later that evening and a pre-approved lease from Putnam already written on an F430 was fucking gold!! That was the most significant thing in my favor. How badly do you think they wanted to keep me from leaving to go to the airport??

The negotiations were epic. You guys won't believe what I paid.

Yes a AWD 911TT and a high revving NA V8 or V10 are the best of all worlds! Hope you can get the 911 and keep the M3. It's going to be tough for me to decide which one to drive and take to track/airstrip events.

Speaking of monster, I'll leave you with this little tidbit:

No doubt the M3 will stay in my garage. As long as my situation doesn't drastically change, the car will never be for sale. Only looking to add. But damn M3 in Yas Marina Blue is also mighty tempting too haha.

And you upgraded your beater to an X5? Nice going

I know I really like the new M3 sedan and who knows, could be my next daily driver after my current M3 lease comes due. I love the way the F10 M5 looks and the new M3 sedan is a smaller version with a better front and rear bumper.

But it will be hard to part with my current M3 coupe. With how I have it set up, it's THE BEST all around car in the world IMHO. It's not great at any one thing, but it's good at everything. I'm loving it as my new daily driver.

IN to see your thoughts on the turbo on the track

lift-oversteer is real haha, rear engine cars are a bear on the track to drive really fast IMO, AWD or not. the back end will come around on you really quick unless you know what you are doing.

but it rips out there that's for sure!

Not really. The 997.2 Turbo S is just as much a Playstation computer on wheels as a GT-R is. It just has a more "prestigious" badge and nicer interior.
