///M límited slip diffs any differences?

Ok, I once owned a E46 M3 and on track/driftdays I felt the first second when accellerating/drifting the oil isn't 'hot' yet so the lock of the diff isn't there yet and suddenly after that (nano)second the //M diff locks and everyting is fine. I know from a friend of mine his Drexler diff on his 130i M works immediately.

I also know that my E90 M3 has 'the same' variable //M diff as the E46 M3 with the same 'delay' in locking and I can live with that.

My question: Are those modern variable //M limited slip differentials all the same or has a M5/M6 a different lsd system?

the e46/e9x diff only starts transferring power when it sees one wheel starting to spin. IMO, a clutch type LSD suits my driving style much better than the LSD that comes in the e46/e9x M cars.
