I just installed my KW kit and am getting the GC plates. Had i realized i couldn't get camber where i wanted i would have just ordered the GC kit (springs and plates) in the first place. I emailed them asking about the 2 different stack heights.

GC makes a specific camber/caster plate for the M3-KW with stock style springs, and not just adapting different parts (e36) to the e9x M3 chassis.

To the best of my knowledge, only the GC kit will work with an M3 spring. They do not raise the car, and allow the caster to be "finely adjusted" rather than needing to bolted and unbolted in a series of holes.

Hi

I had my GC camber plates installed by one of the best suspension shops in Sydney a couple of weeks ago and wheel alignment set for my track day: -2.5 degrees camber front, -2.0 degrees camber rear.

Ran track day today on 1/2 worn OEM size PS2 on 359M wheels and both front and rear wheels have quite even temperatures across the threads at the end of 20 min sessions after 2 cool down laps.

No noise from the plates.

Highly recommended mod for owners that want to do regular track days, but don't want to do too many mods to their cars.

I will be putting the alignment back to standard though - driving with -2.5 degrees front camber on broken public roads is hard work!

Properly installed Ground Control, TC Kline or Vorshlag plates are not noisy.

I ended up going with the ground control hybrid plates and I would have to say that the noise is definitely more but not unbearable (maybe). I expected that of course because the hybrid plates use a spherical ball at the top instead of the rubber mount. There is a rubber like pad at the top that separates the spring from the top spring seat and a hard plastic/delrin pad at the bottom between the spring at bottom seat.

All that being said, I'm not sure yet if I'm totally happy. I'm having a bit of an abrupt jarring noise problem when the suspension unloads or rebounds suddenly. I'm fairly certain that it is not that the spring is becoming unseated. I've also ruled out the sway bar end links. I'm thinking that it is a result of the front spring becoming twisted due to normal compressions and/or steering input and at some point of the rebound cycle there is enough of a release in spring pressure at the spring seat that it allows the spring to "relax" which seems like the noise that I'm hearing. I think my next plan is to test out to see if the thrust sheets from swift and/or torrigton bearings from eibach will help.

Will keep you guys posted.

Thanks,
Royce M

P.S. Are you guys from HP Autowerks open tomorrow (Sat)? Do you carry 60mm thrust sheets? Hoping to setup the car up for Cal Speedway this weekend.

We ran the camber only ones on our M3 racecar this entire past BMWCCA Club race season with no problems.

They are built with the same materials as our camber/caster plates, but have a lower stack height to allow for more compression, and are less expensive

jack it up push it over to a preset mark and go. problem is you change your toe doing this so i have a static set up using it both on the track and the street. dont care too much about inner tire wear on the street because the outer tire wear on the track more than makes up for it. also in the last several months the only street miles i have put on are to and from the track.

what about the EDC module? you disconnect them first?

also, any way to change the toe for track and street? or you have to stick with a static setting like you have?

p.s. saw ur sig, do you recommend the brake ducts?

yes the edc module just disconnects and pops off. you could try marking your control arms and adjust the nut so you get the toe back where you want it but you would be unsure what your really ending up with to some extent each time so i would rather not bother.

i do recommend the ducts. i only have them run to the inner fender liner and pointed at the rotors and made a difference. Still have the second half ready to go to the backing plates if i need it but havent really felt it was warranted yet. partially because i ran 3inch ducts which will pinch on turning as compared to the normal 2.5 inch.

Speaking of Vorschlag plates... My father has an E90 335i and runs the vorschlags, and also has an E36 M3 with AST coilovers, obviously with the vorschlag plates. He tells me that the plates for the E90 (non-M) said e36/e90 on them (or on the box, can't recall). Can anyone confirm if these are, indeed, the same part? I know the spring perches all depend on the coils being run, but aside from that, are they interchangeable? I have the opportunity to buy some essentially new E90 non-M plates to put on my own E36, and was wondering if someone here would know this answer.

Thanks!!

Newb question, so sorry, but here it is: Any camber plates for stock E92 ZCP/EDC setup that retains the EDC functionality? I've been searching for the answer, but not finding it.

The EDC module plugs into a 2-pin plug inside the top of the strut. As long as you can plug into this, you are good to go. Be careful locating the pins with the plug before engaging! There are guide lugs inside to help.
