No M3's in Ireland?
I always click on this forum by accident on my iPad when I'm trying to get to the Canadian forum.
I have always wondered how come there are so few M3's in Ireland? I thought the U.K. had tonnes of BMW's and M-cars! - KJ |

The Tax to own an M3 in Ireland (Republic of Ireland) is mental. Something in the region of £3K a year!! But in the North, (Northern Ireland) the tax is £475 a year and maybe the NI owners click on the UK rather than Ireland. I can't say to be honest. Thanks for visiting anyway,

Because an M3 in Ireland costs €115,000 (US$ 141,000 CAD 141,000) to buy and €2,100 (US$ 2,600 CAD 2,600) to tax annually making them as rare as cars that cost this much in the US and Canada. Also fuel costs €1.60 per liter (or approximately US$10.00 per European gallon).

I was just in Ireland. During my travels I saw 6 M3s, 2 M5s, and 1 M6. I cannot speak to the total number present in the country but I saw enough to make me smile. Even with the current state of their economy there were plenty of BMWs/other luxury cars around. I did see a good number of the new F30s. To be honest I think in the US we are far more willing/interested in showing off our money through our toys than most of the population in Ireland. And truthfully I always enjoy being there for that reason. What a truly lovely country (even if it rains a lot hah).

OK, you may be right, there aren't that many M cars...but they more than make up for it with friendly women, great beer/ale, and warm hospitality!
