E90 M3 vs C6

So without starting a flame war by asking a simple quesiton but what is anyone's experince with C6 Corvettes. I honestly do not know anything about them. I knew that they were quick but I never knew they were 4 sec 0-60 quick (per internet searching).. I only ask cause today I was on the freeway and a red C6 pulled next to me. Thing had an insane sounding exhaust. He starts to rev his engine next to me. Then I hear him downshift and he floors it. I quickly shifted to third at about 60 MPH and floored it. He had a jump on me and pulled directly in front of me in the lane I was in but he couldnt lose me. I stayed about one car length behind him the whole time. I got to 5th gear then we both let off... It being a 4 sec car, should I be surprised that I even hung with him or is this story sound about right??? No it was not a Z06, it was a regular non-vert C6.... Thanks guys

2008+ C6's have the LS3. They're quick stock, and can get near 500 rwhp with bolt-ons and a cam. Plus they're cheap to mod (compared to the M3).

Oh ya vettes are quick! that is one thing I am going to miss about my vette Stg.2 comp. cam, ported polished heads, intake, exhaust, dyno tuned widebody etc. etc. Thing MOVES like no other haha break traction around 60ish when flooring it on the freeway. I am picking up a e90 m3 and will def. miss the scary factor of the vette. I dont think Ill ever have an m3 compare to driving this daily power wise but I am happy to give my chattery teeth and girlfriend always complaining a break from a rough stiff ride lol. I had an experience with an e92 on a light and he SMOKED ME (no traction) lol i sat there spinning for felt like 2 minutes before I could hook and go by the time I did Im guessing he was home lol (small street) here ill attach some pics!

I've had three C6 Vettes (including an '07 Z06).... they are fast. However, you are more prone to find one driven by someone that has no idea how to get it to "hook up" than one that does. Stock for stock an LS2 will not walk you...the LS3 properly driven will have a slight edge.

At the end of the day, you have the better all around car. Trust me. My last C6 was an '11 Grand Sport which I had for about 7 months. Nice enough car but not in the same class of vehicle as an M3.

This is beyond true.. I'm not sure which vette the c6 is exactly, but if it's the one that looks like the Grand Sport above I had a run with run from a 2nd gear roll in my e46m3 and it took him till about 4th gear to finally pull on me, even with my overweight cousin in the car with me.

lol the car hooks... I am just one of those people who does not launch the vehicle... so to try and hook off launch is pretty hard with as much power as the vette when you dont do it often and I agree.. the vette is a whole different car. I had a VF sc lsb e46m3 previous and other high boosted BT cars. Now granted you're probably older with a lot more experience than I so you've probably had a lot more experience in your numerous vettes with only being shy of 22 myself.. I've only had the car for about 1 year which is about the time I usually sell or trade about 1-2 years. Now you're speculations may be correct about reading that I am 22 with such cars and I do not have this experience or that driving experience.. which is true! I have slightly lost it a few times launching (empty parking) but practice makes perfect! I am just very much looking forward to getting into another m3 plans are for an ESS kit def. 4 doors are a must as the miss and I are planning to raise a little one in the next year!

Cheers! and beautiful GS btw!!!

Sorry to say but the vette was clearly poorly driven... Unless your running FI I dont see you taking a mid to low 12 second car anywhere past first gear..my brothers wife with a fbo 335 coupe also thought her car was faster then a vette, neglecting the fact the guy behind the wheel couldn't drive it
