Leather in M3

I have a 2009 e90 and test drove a 2010 E92 the other day. It seemed like the leather was quite a bit softer in the 2010 additionally, the steering wheel felt smoother and softer. Did the leather change at all or was the previous owner a fat guy with a death grip?

probably not, my 2008 leather is pretty soft. Do you park your car indoors and how often do you clean your seats?

It might have depended on color. For example, I've read on these forums that Silver Novillo is noticeably softer than Black, which is noticeably thicker and therefore might last longer. The steering wheel probably felt that way because it's new. I remember on my last car (Acura TL Type-S) I had the steering wheel replaced under warranty because the leather was starting to separate along a line and I couldn't believe how different the new one felt, and that was after only 2.5 years.

Every cow is different, therefore so is each lot of leather.

The steering wheel leather has definitely changed, in my 2008 it was higher gloss and a bit firmer... whereas in my 2011 it is a matte finish and feels softer. Likely just the finish on the leather but it is different for sure.

the whole leather all around is definitely matte...
and kind or 'harder'? but the wheel is soft and matte....
its very unique...does anyone know what kind of leather is this
and how is so different by other leathers such as the dakota or the 'nappa'
of the 5 series?
