No, they were painted then cleared.... The cars not my daily so the finish will hold up fine.... Also I found out from BMW if I powdercoated it would void my wheel and tire coverage... Painting allowed me to keep that in tact...I got them done at F1 Motoring in sayerville nj... I'm friends with the manager and luckily they had a set of M6 wheels in storage they put on my car while they were being done...

The finish is different and where paint will chip powdercoat, even though it is more durable, just breaks off the wheels....I've gone both routes in the past and haven't really had and issues with either..u can paint the wheels as many times as ur want and it's soooo much easier to touch up then powdercoat. Powdercoat is kinda a once or twice at most kinda thing...all I know is volk doesn't powdercoat there wheels so there must be a reason

I was originally thinking of doing this to my mineral coupe as well...the problem is that the wheels are now invisible...and ZCP wheels are too beautiful to hide like this. The other thing I noticed is that when the sun shines on the stock silver ZCP, the shimmer has a yellowish hue to it similar to the Mineral white paint. Plus, black wheels on a white car is on its way out...

I'm totally not surprised by that because most dealers are usually wrong... Good to know though... If the finish get crappy on the paint I'll powdercoat them
