Weird ticking noise... rod bearings?

Video:

Car has 100k miles. I originally thought it might be sand since I went to the beach the day before and drove on some dirt roads.

It happens around 3-4K rpm usually and sounds like there something bouncing around near the center console like under it.

It’s not consistant and happens on and off. Doesn’t happen while idling.

Any ideas?

Tough to say without seeing it on the lift. Could be exhaust touching a heat shield or something loose. Normally rod bearing you can hear the noise increasing speed when you rev the engine, so I dont think its a bearing issue.

Doesnt sound rythmic either, sounds like something flapping around in the wind.

Yeah it sounds like something is being a jumping bean somewhere inside the center console.

I'm 100% sure, your noise is NOT bearing related .
