Just got my E92 M3, I know to play music through the phone I have to connect the aux. and phone the the dongle in the center console. Is there a way to connect and play music wirelessly?

A 2009 will not have a combox, therefore unless you want to do a complete OEM combox retrofit, your best bet would be an aftermarket bluetooth option. Just do a quick search for adding bluetooth for your model and year. Lots of good info on the forum.
Congrats on the new M3!

You can retrofit the combox yourself if you want. Personally I don't think its worth buying the retrofit kits sold by the vendors here. A used combox is $100usd A plug and play wiring harness is around $120usd though you can do it yourself if you want. MOST Terminator (Included in the PNP harness if you go that route) is $10usd Coding if you can do it yourself then do it, but I'd say around $80 to $100? I went the repin route so at the end of it, I only paid $10usd cause I got a combox and connector housing for free. The only thing I needed to buy was the MOST Terminator.

I use the wma3000b adaptor in my 08'. It works very well but if you listen to Bluetooth around your car with other speakers you have to lock your car or unplug it because it always takes priority over anything else. Even with the ignition off it's "awake" and ready to steal the connection from your other devices. It's annoying af...

I have a Tune2Air connected and it sits in my console..it's phenomenal. easy connect and even easier than most built in Bluetooth connections, at least easier/quicker than my 2016 Tahoe. audio quality is top notch.

TaoTronics Bluetooth Adapter
I've been using the TaoTronics BT Adapter. I found it on Amazon for around $15. It works great.
