Thanks again for helping me decide on this lip, I can't count how many positive comments I've gotten on it (around town and at the track as well). It really is the best lip out there for the E9x M3 IMO. The weave is flawless and the fitment is great. Not to mention customer service

I was really skeptical about ground clearance when searching for a new lip since my Platte Forme A.G. lip got torn up by dips, driveways, etc. I'm proud to say that I haven't had any issues with this lip in terms of scraping. I was on B&G lowering springs previously, but even with my slightly lower JRZ setup, it just takes a little bit of careful driving. I don't have to angle the car anywhere near how much I did with the previous lip to clear driveways. I would recommend the Mode Carbon GTS V1 to anyone looking for a street friendly lip at a great price. Although I don't have personal experience with their other lips, I'd expect the same quality and fit from their V2 and GT4 lips as well, they're just a bit too aggressive for my taste

The latest addition to the car other than the V! GTS lip is JRZ coilovers. I just took her to the track yesterday, and all I can say is WOW. I've never owned a set of coilovers before, but I after thorough research, I knew I wanted to do it right the first time. I stumbled upon this a set of JRZ RS1's (pictured 2 posts above) that I just had to pull the trigger on. I do 3-5 track days per year, and these coilovers make dual duty really easy. With my track day in mind, I had my camber aligned to -3.2 front with 1/32 toe out in the front and -2 rear with 1/32 toe in. I also have a conservative street setting of -1.5 degrees in the front thanks to the JRZ adjustable camber plates. I'm still fiddling with the damping adjustment to get it just right (currently at 13 clicks from soft). Let me just say that the street comfort is noticeably more compliant than the B&G spring/EDC shock setup, and the track performance is phenomenal. I'm not at a level to time myself yet at the track, but the car feels much more composed in comparison to my previous setup. The body roll has been reduced and variations in the road surface don't upset the car like they used to. I am very happy with this setup and will likely stick with it for the life of the car.

I'd recommend the JRZ RS1 to anybody looking for a dual duty setup. They're great because they still adjust compression and rebound (unlike other single adjustable dampers out there) while using only 1 adjustment knob, and they are monotube which allows them to be very comfortable on the street. Although they are on the pricey side, I'm glad I decided on these over the other options out there.

I had the day off yesterday, so I got the chance to snap some photos. No new updates since installing my Mode Carbon GTS Variant 1 lip and JRZ suspension. Comments on the car and photos are welcome I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I should have another update soon with a photo from Thunderhill, stay tuned! Thanks for viewing

Hi Kevin

Awesome E90! And great choice of colour.
You mentioned you've found the coil overs MORE comfortable than the stock set up - can you elaborate? You mean they're actually more compliant than EDC on the comfort setting?

Thanks for the compliments.

I apologize that what I had written about the JRZ suspension vs. stock suspension was not 100% clear. I'll do my best to clarify here (I will also edit the post you are referring to):

By "spring/EDC shock setup" I meant aftermarket springs, not the OEM springs. My previous setup before switching to the JRZ coilovers was B&G sport springs and the OEM EDC shocks, hence that was what I was comparing the street comfort to. It's been too long for me to remember what my car felt like with the original springs and EDC. I hope this helps

Nothing new to update with at the moment but I took a quick shot of both cars this weekend. I didn't have my DSLR on me so this is a crappy iPhone photo, enjoy!

Updates needed. I'm thinking about picking up a space grey (while I'm not 100% in love with the color right now) and need inspiration.

And...... I'm baaaaaaack.

I sold the Space Grey E90 M3 in December 2016 and have recently purchased an Alpine White E90 M3 (6MT)! There was something about the S65 engine that I couldn't stay away from

Here are a couple of pics from the day I picked her up:

Thanks! It's a 2008 6MT with lots of options and a couple of mods. Most notably:

6MT
LCI trunk/tails
M Performance Exhaust
Custom Angel Eyes
Swift Springs
CF CRT lip
Speed Cloth interior w/ Carbon Leather trim
60/40 Fold down rear seats
iDrive / M Drive / EDC
Individual Audio
Rear sunshades
Comfort Access
Rear PDC

With a touch over 100k on the clock, I'll probably be doing rod bearings soon. Throttle actuators gears have already been preventatively replaced.

F10 M5 knob went in today! I've always loved the feel of the ZHP knob and I love that the M5 knob is illuminated just like the original knob. I used this video for install instructions (very informative. Followed the steps to a tee):

Here are some pics of the final product!

Nice!

What are your thoughts on 6MT vs your old DCT? Any pros/cons in regards to the differences in the transmission?

There are pros/cons to everything, I couldn't say I'd definitely pick one over the other, but I am most definitely enjoying the 6MT a lot right now. I just upgraded the shift knob mostly to improve the shifter feel because the knob that came on my car (M4 M Performance knob) was too small/short and I felt like I was forcing it into each gear rather than fluidly shifting into gear. I'll also be replacing the engine mounts when I do my rod bearings later this month so that should help the shifter feel a bit too.

6MT:
Fun
Heel toe/rev match is rewarding when you get it right
Feels more "raw"
More reliable (?) - My old car was seeping transmission fluid which I think is a common issue with DCT
Cheaper to maintain (fluid) and repair - IIRC the DCT fluid flush was pretty pricey
More connection to driving experience on track

DCT:
Intuitive to use
Smooth (had Euro DCT tune)
Insanely fast
Crisp downshifts
Launch control
Convenient in Bay Area traffic
