No need for a tune, switching maps, or any fancy computers, this flex fuel kit takes care of everything in one package. Unlock the power of the S65 in your E9X M3 with E85! NEW! We're excited to announce the release of the new PROFLEX Commander now with smartphone connectivity! No more guessing how much E85 you have, just pull out your phone and look! Now shipping with every kit ordered from Redline360! Works with Android and iPhone So what comes in the box?
So how could a stock E92 M3 gain 52 wheel horsepower with nothing more than this flex fuel kit and E85? AFD tested the M3 at at 1.5% ethanol both with and without the PROFLEX Commander, then tested it with the PROFLEX Commander at 37%, 60%, and 75% ethanol. With each higher concentration of ethanol they saw an increase in horsepower with the biggest gain of 52HP at the wheels coming at 75% ethanol that day, which is the biggest gain we've seen yet on this car. These gains were incredible considering 10-15HP gains are expected on this vehicle. The vehicle consistently maintained its proper air/fuel ratio for each pull and registered cooler oil temperatures with ethanol. Note: All dyno tests were repeated a minimum of 3 times to ensure accuracy. Ambient temperatures were also over 100 degrees, which we believe strongly shows the cooling effects of running ethanol. So what about a supercharged M3? AFD tested a VF Supercharged E92 M3 and had a baseline of 527HP and 359 ft/tq before installing the PROFLEX Commander flex fuel kit. After installation, Eurocharged ATX ran the car on 32%, 48%, and 61% ethanol. At 61% the car made 576HP to the wheels picking up 49HP without any additional tuning. It also picked up 25 ft/tq! Note: For supercharged cars, we strongly recommend an upgrded fuel pump and injectors to ensure adequate fuel supply. Also getting an injector duty cycle reading (IDC) to ensure your injectors have the capacity required when running E85. |

I would love to see someone repeat your 52 rwhp gain in independent testing. It is totally unrealistic if proper before and after testing is fine. It could happen only on a car experiencing significant timing retard on pump gas so power was down to start with. Then clear adaption and run high octane gas such as E85 and the car will make the power a good stock car should be making. The Proflex does not raise timing targets to take advantage of the E85–it leaves them stock and a good running stock car on 93 pump can hit the stock timing targets. The more realistic gain over a good running stock car is 3-5%. On a 350 rwhp car, that would be 10-18 rwhp.
Run E85 full time and tune for it and much bigger gains are possible, and you don’t need the Proflex. |
