While it may not have the outright thrust of it's big brother, the Cayenne GTS is the single best handling SUV made. It has a wicked exhaust note, great looks inside and out, and incredible seats unique to the GTS.

Anyway, I prefer NA engines to turbocharged ones, so I would advise the OP to check out a mildly used X5 4.8is. In Estoril Blue or Imola Red if possible, with the bicolor interior.

I own a 2006 trailblazer (wifes) she loves it. its not as fast as the srt8 stock but i can tow way more. which means more to me then just going real fast in a suv.
PS 997gt3 pm me were you live in nd. i would love to see your gtr. |

I had a 09' cayenne turbo S with everything but pccb, $141k sticker, prior to my m3, best SUV you can get your hands on, but my m3 is way louder n more fun
X6m, x5m, and cayenne turbo/turbo s are the best of the best when it comes to fast 4x4s Srt8 is nice, but think the older one looks way more aggressive than the new one

Or how about a new SRT 6.4 liter Hemi stuffed in a Wrangler Current engine (pre-Pentastar 3.5 liter) wasn't enough. So the owner ordered a 6.4 liter crate motor along with a bunch of other Mopar parts to replace it.

OP, if you are still interested in the SRT8 Jeep wait for the MY14 production. This will be a mid-cycle refresh. It will have the 8-speed auto, updated info/nav system, LED's and a bunch of other changes. Accordingly there will be a special model with a 6.2 S/C engine. The MY14 will begin production January 2013 (very short production cycle for MY13). If interested in more details Google is your friend.
I have a MY11 JGC Overland V8 has my DD. It has been reliable but some of the updates are needed. |

I agree that the new Jeep SRT8 looks much less butch and aggressive than the prior model--the new one almost looks feminine.
I think the problem is the new roundedness of the overall shape and the design of the new wheels. Maybe it will look better with the right aftermarket wheels? |

The prior model did look more aggressive but Chryco made the current version more practical as a tow vehicle and snow/ice driving. I considered the SRT8 but have still have an issue with paying $63k (or so) on a Jeep. Search the web, there are a lot of MY12's on dealer lots. After the first wave of emotional "must have" buyers, I suspect the interest level has leveled off. For the price, an argument can be made for a CPO X5M. |
