My M3 just got into port today. How much longer to dealer?
I've been tracking the thing for weeks now since I left my baby in Germany for its ride home. Now it got into Port Hueneme, CA, this morning. Does anyone know how long it might take to get to my dealer (South Bay BMW) and ready for me to pickup?

Welcome....you were on the Madame Butterfly.
The Shipping Party is located HERE If you did an ED, BMW is instructing owners that customs can take 10-14 days. Then it has to go through the VDC and finally on a transaport to your dealer. Depending on the backlog at Customs & VDC I would estimate 7-14 days. I'm in same boat as you...pun not intended.

It depends if you did ED or not. If you did ED it will take about 2 weeks. If not it should be less than 1 week. It took me 2 weeks for my car to get delivered in February 2011, but I did ED. There was another member on the same ship and he got his in like 3 days, he didn't do ED.

The car goes through a longer customs inspection if you did ED, since you could have smuggled in contraband when you had the car in Europe. Most times non ED cars get electronically cleared by customs before the car even hits the port.

Doing the Euro Delivery is worth the extra wait though. I did it in December and had a blast driving the M3 on the Autobahn.

How long did it take to get to Steve Thomas BMW after the ship anchored? I'm on Madame Butterfly, it docked today.

But many of the cars they've tested have gone close to 200mph.

I did ED thru Steve Thomas BMW. My ship docked on 2/9/11 and my car arrived at Steve Thomas BMW on 2/25/11.

I agree that the extra wait sucks! But Doing ED more than makes up for it. I think Ryan Amico was getting tired of me calling for status on my car. lol:
