AdamJ39 , can you elaborate on why item 5 from your original post is needed? If I have to swap the buckle on the seat to accept the e90 seat belt, why do I need seat belts from the F80?

And if you did make any of the hardware kits for the rear, I'd be interested in a set.

You need the swap the belts because end belt bracket (sewn into the belt end) which bolts to the seat (opposite of the belt buckle) is different

Also we are currently making a batch of seat brackets for the rear but they only fit a fold down car (unless someone confirms some other details with non fold down cars)

Any idea if I can use any F30 belt or does it have to be F8x to work? I don't care for the blue and red line on the M3 belts.

I don't have fold down rear seats currently. I'll report back once I get my seats and start digging in to it.

You might be able to use the f30 belts, not sure though, also the m-striped belts only come on competition cars

Wonder if anyone has done this with F83/E93, the seat belts are integrated with the seat?

In your original post, you said swap the seat belts to the e90 reel. Did you simply swap the entire seat belt reel/retractor or did you swap the webbing itself? The belts I got (included) were locked up, so I was going to swap to my reel/retractor, but haven't ever taken one apart yet. Just curious what route you took.

F8x belts onto the e9x belt assembly, yes you have to rebuild the entire thing, its not too bad

Hi, Thanks for the thread and write up. helped quite a bit whilst doing this on my e90. The Driver seat worked marvelously after the connector and module swap, the one issue I have is the passenger seat. It seems to be dead and the occupancy/air bag light came up. I swapped the module from my e90 seat, however it was different from the driver module, it was a small black module with only 3 connectors. I do have OEM heated and electric seats so not sure why the module is different. Could you help me out with the pin out for the pass side, perhaps an image of the underside of your seat?

Thanks in advance, appreciate the help

I am about to take this project on.. I picked up a set of F83 M4 LCI seats (heated, just like what I have in my 2012 E93 M3 now), but unfortunately the F83 LCI seats appear to be a completely different wiring/pinout than other conversions I've seen documented with doing F82 pre-LCI seats in an E92 M3.

Only took a few minutes to get the very basic motors working (forward/back/up/down/recline) but would like to get the heated elements working, as well as any other sensors possible.

I'm starting to learn how to read BMWs wiring diagrams.. not as easy as I'd hoped!

If anybody has taken this on already, please PM me, would really appreciate any knowledge on this from somebody who has tackled this!

Making good progress so far.. got most features working, including heated seats. Still need to tackle the airbags, occupancy sensor, buckle, and retractor wiring.. but I made some good progress today. I'm documenting everything.

I believe I've got it all working at this point. I'm fairly certain that I can't wire up the powered belt retractor from the F83 seat (which has a gas solenoid, I believe in the case of a crash it will perma-lock?) I don't think the E9x seats have this feature.

Everything seems to be working. All buttons/functions work as expected. This was just the passenger seat, but now that I've got somewhat of a grip on it I doubt the driver's seat will be too much trouble.

Will need to sell the "M4" illuminated headrest badges and order the "M3" badges now

I've been documenting everything so far (with photos). Once I'm all done I'll put it all together to share.

Super impressive. So many additional details with our E93s having the seat belts and safety features built in to the seat… tremendous work!!

All power movement functions work (including lumbar adjustments and side bolster adjustments), heat works, and I wired up the illuminated headrest badge to come on with the footwell lights. Had to code out a couple items. No errors at this point. Definitely gives the car a nice updated look! Hopefully I'll have time to do the driver seat next week. Once its all done I'll do a write-up.
