OEM Exhaust Mod (Perforated) vs Megan

Since these are the most affordable options for our cars, I wanted to take a few seconds to add my 2 cents about these two exhausts. In short, if you intend to maintain your primary cats the perforated pipe replacement OEM Mod is the superior exhaust of the two. The Megan is initially louder down low and during cold start, but drones steadily at low rpm's (no good for DCT), and actually gets a bit soft at WOT by comparison. The OEM Mod introduces a bit more rumble at start up and low rpm launch, has ZERO DRONE, and screams like a banshee at WOT.

Side Note: There seems to be some confusion on the forum about the E90 and E92 exhaust lengths. For clarity, the connecting pipes and canister measure out to the exact same specifications. Only the tips vary in length (E92: 7-3/8", E90: 5-7/8"). How do I know? I'm running an E90 unit on my E92, and I measured both side by side when they were in my garage.

I agree with these sentiments, I have had both. OEM Exhaust mod with front cats intact is unbeatable. With test pipes, loud as hell and raspy. In either case, there is no drone.

Megan sounds great, idles a bit louder, drones a tad around 2k RPM, and is pretty quiet WOT even without front cats.

I had an Agency Power (Megan) and now the OEM perforated mod with all else remaining stock and concur with the observations of the OP. I preferred the Agency Power, but my wife and neighbors prefer the OEM mod.

i had the perforated mod done on my car. I don't get much drone when not on the highway.

but i do get some drone at 75MPH-80MPH. I don't like the tone of megan, although do not love the sound of mine either. I just like it.

The intake noise is louder than the exhaust at higher RPM.
