With the valve opened, huge difference! The true voice of the V8 really starts to show it's presence. It has a slight crisp burble to it and the volume is clearly increased.

Thanks for showing us some nice blips of the throttle last night!
ya i bet it sounds real intense when valves r open. n based of ur impressions, seems like u had a life-alterin/godlike experience, huh?

i'm jus glad his hoa can't bitch anymore

Haha....I think driving a boosted E9X M3 would be life-altering and a god-like experience

Really though, I like how refined and classy the exhaust sounds.

Had some work done by the excellent crews at VS Motorsport yesterday and saw this beast. I knew it was going to sound amazing because I've been following this exhaust since its testing period, but hearing this in in person took me to another dimension. Valve closed it sounds proper, deep aggressive sound, but not overly crazy. Valves open, feels like I had octane booster injected throughout my bloodstream and ready to just rip those tires apart.

If I ever get an exhaust Evolve is definitely the way to go, you get the best of both world, a civilized car while taking the wife & kids out. A orgasmic v8 for those track days (or maybe everyday for some of us).

BTW, the exhaust looks just as amazing as it sounds. Beautiful car MK!

I took some video recently of the exhaust with the valves closed. I have seen many posts about the exhaust so I thought I would film and write my review on the exhaust in closed mode.

I really do not drive with the valves closed, the sound of the exhaust with the valves open is like porn to the ears. Sounds amazing, so I really did not have a good idea of what it sounded like with the valves closed.

Here are the three videos that I took (Had to cut it up because it was a total of 20 minutes)

Valves Closed, Car is cold and revs are under 3k

Valves Closed, Car is warm with power mode off

Valves Closed, Car is warm with power mode on

When many think of a valved exhaust they think when the valves are closed it is really quick. When the valves are open it is really loud. But with the Evolve unit it is a different story. Not only does it sound awesome with it closed, but it sounds really nice compared to many of the other exhausts that I have had and heard. (few days before I drove my buddies E92 equipped with Dinan Mufflers and Challenge Street xpipe, my setup was much louder) There is no drone, none at all when the valves are closed. My girlfriend is now open to driving around in my car because she can have a conversation (blah). She would never get in my car with my old setups, and sometimes with valves open she would get upset lol)

So really yeah you can close the valves on the Evolve unit to be quiet, but it also has plenty of punch for people who want to stay in closed mode and still sound beefy...

Finally someone reviewing the quiet section!!

This was actually the section which was most difficult to produce. Anyone can make a loud exhaust but to create an exotic noise which is sporty with minimal drone is a real difficult task as many exhaust developers will confirm.

The aim was achieved to our ears at least at the time of achieving a sporty exotic tone which you can live with at any speed and all load points. I am glad now finally it is being noticed and this exhausts massive development now being appreciated.

I can just imagine, when she is whining/squawking in your ear, you just open the valves and shut her up. So awesome

To be honest, I never realized how nice it sounded until I actually drove around with the valves closed. I also got looks from it and one guy in a corvette actually pulled up next to me and said it sounded really nice.. thats when I opened them up and he was even more impressed lol

Going on a year now with my full system and still extremely satisfied. I can't imagine having anything else. The sporty sound with the valves closed is perfect for everyday driving, especially with my E93 which tends to bring the volume a little higher. I can be on the phone or have the kids in the car and it is aggressive without being overwhelming. Volume is just under normal talking or radio volume rather than equal to or greater. Open valves with the top down is heavenly.

Thanks again Sal!

I agree. When I had this fitted I spent first few weeks on loud mode all the time. But once you switch to quiet mode you really can appreciate how good it is. Quite often I now opt to go mid way and only open them partially!

mkPOTO: So this unit you installed is only the Rear Exhaust correct? Keeping all the Cats still can get you such a nice sound?

Is there a E90M version?

I wish someone would invent a stock oem sound to loud sporty Dinan sound. I'd buy that
