Official E90/92 Reflector Thread

Man I don't know what to do about these ugly reflectors. They look pretty bad stock, but they look even worse when they're painted. The euro bumper looks SO clean without them.

Taken from another thread:

Check out the euro bumper:

Might be worth it to either fill in the US one or get a euro one.

I think the US reflectors interfere with the corner sensors, that's my guess anyway. Awful shame. Too bad the government can't take one quick look at this situation and realize that the roads aren't actually any safer thanks to a little extra orange on the side of the freaking bumper.

I actually wish the amber was in the headlights. I guess it didn't get approved because the 335i has a reflector too.

It's like a new bike when we were kids. What was the first thing you took off back then? The reflectors. Hopefully some more people can post pics of their painted versions so we can see if it's a good solution. So far it doesn't look like it.

Excellere can you get some better shots of yours with a better camera? Maybe in sunlight. You're probably too busy driving around though and I can't blame you.

I guess they just figured you would be looking out the front windshield and would be able to see if you were about to hit something.

I'm thinking the yellow reflector looks better then the painted reflector.. I guess a new bumper is the way to go.

Like some people have suggested before ... I think a flush version (if possible) would work out well.

I hated them at first, but now I don't really mind them on Alpine White. It adds a little color. I had to get used to that damn shark fin (remora) also. The car is so perfect otherwise that I just don't care any more. Take the bad with the good!

I would like a clear one much better than the orange or painted. Painted look awkward to me, like you are trying to hide something and they do not belong. When it is a reflector, at least it has a purpose.

I agree that clear/white ones (matching the parking lights and backup lights) is probably the best solution, taking cost into account.

God bless,
Tom

why would you ever buy an entire front bumper to replace the orange?
dont you guys think it would be cheaper to take them off, fill it in and re paint the bumper?
MUCH CHEAPER actually...?
