Is your car rough when it's cold?

I just got my car so I don't have much experience driving it yet. I can't tell whether it's me or the car is harder to drive when it's cold. I haven't drove a manual for 20 years so I'm getting back into it.

In general cars are rough and notchy when the fluids are not up to operating temperatures, so yes.

And there is a cold start cycle in these cars to get the catalytic converter etc warmed up. It can be coded out...

Even without my cold start cycle my car can be quite rough.

When the car is cold I simply wait a couple of minutes before driving away to avoid the rodeo circus...

Transmission is jerky when the car is still cold. It goes away though.

Yes, the M3 is quite notchy and "rough" when cold. It's part of the experience though, i personally like it. Makes the car feel more "raw" and less tamed. Once warmed up, it becomes buttery smooth and beast. Cheers!

Normal. Always make sure you're in normal mode, that will minimize jerkiness when cold. Also note the cold start sequence will make the car a tad unsmooth as well.
