Spark plugs were changed during install of the kit. Running 93-ish octane (mix of 92 + a couple gallons of 100)

Ok, that makes sense. How is your kit running? I still would love to meet up to take a spin before I buy one.

No issues with the kit. The offer still stands if you want to head up to Layton.

Just did a "supercharger out" service to replace a stuck thermostat. Changed the spark plugs and replaced the belt with a new belt while I was in there.

How much extra weight does the harrop add to the car?

The extra power/Torque far outweighs any additional weight, not enough to upset the balance of the car either.

Man I'm so horny for a stage 2 E85 Harrop. Why is this so hard to do?!?! That would force me to buy a kit.

I've been thinking about getting one of these installed whilst waiting for the stage 2 option. https://fiinterchillers.com/

Being in Australia most of the driving is in hot weather and some of the AIT these guys are getting with these kits are crazy!

Kits are around $2300 AUD for a universal + Installation.

Bunch of youtube vids with these making a difference of anywhere between 40-70whp without any additional changes (Dont even need a retune, a tune would just maximise the potential)

Do some searching and let me know what you guys think?

The weather has been exceptionally poor here lately.

In the process of hiring more staff so we can focus more attention here. It's not about the difficulty. The issue is allocating resources to an a platform two generations old in a limited market.

Great to hear! You are aware of the Radium Engineering drop in fuel pump hanger they made for the E9X M3's correct? Pretty sure they just released it. That should address any E85 fuel needs.

The S65 uses a PWM pump. The radium hanger kits are for use with fixed flow pumps and traditional fuel pressure regulators. It has always been possible to hang a larger fixed flow pump in the tank, but that is not the end of the matter. Integrating it into the factory fuel system has been the issue. High power supercharged cars have turned on a secondary fixed flow pump only at high boost, so it supplements the stock pump.

Could you use something like this to control the second pump?

That looks like it will control low pressure pumps to supplement direct injection high pressure fuel systems. Not sure how it would interface with a low pressure pwm fuel injection. I am sure this sort of thing has been done. I have read of pwm systems converted to fixed flow pumps and regulators but that may require tuning changes. I have never been involved with anything like that and have only read about it.

Soon as stage 2 is revealed I’m all over this kit. Even with my states (California) strict emission laws. Not sure how but there’s plenty of s/c e9x’s out here. 🤔 wondering if putting the cats back on and detuning without removing the s/c would work in passing smog.

I just bought this set up from Fuel-It

https://www.fuel-it.com/fi-650hp-bmw...-lpfp-upgrade/

I ordered the 4psi Hobbs switch to kick on the second pump on boost.

Will report back after it’s installed....

If the emissions equipment is retained, it should pass with flying colors.

We're not convinced the pump is the elephant in the room here, but will find out soon enough with E85 on Stage I, and then Stage II. Fortunately it looks like the weather is starting to clear up (barring Thursday). Since we don't drive the E9x much anymore, and with E85s instability over time, we will test with smaller quantities at first and go from there. Stage II should be no issues with the larger injectors and roughly 50% E85. The stock pump is sufficient for this application.

We've got a few "brave" customers running other lots that have run 100% E85 with 42# injectors and run lean into the 14's and still have a healthy motor. The stage II injectors are quite a bit larger and should provide additional room.

Looking forward to it as with 91 octane here, the benefits of E85 will be graciously welcomed.

i'm a bit confused, so do you mean that stage ii without a E85 fuel mixture would not see much gains? or will there be a pulley change to generate more boost?
