Bilstein clubsport adjustments

I am putting on a set of bilstein clubsport for the car next week.

Got a second hand set real cheap off another M3 owner and sent it off to bilstein to get it refurbished.

Their turn-around was real quick, aside from waiting for the top mount bearings which took awhile to source, the actual work took only about 3 days all in all.

Shocks are in their own words "as good as new" right now.

I have previously used B16s which are single adjustment and they were an awesome set of coilovers.

The clubsport I understand have independent rebound and compression adjustment.

2 questions I have on the incoming "new" coilovers

1) What are the recommended settings you will go for normal daily drive use? Compliant enough for the "performance luxury" category the car is supposed to fall into

2) Any rules on tailoring the individual settings for particular conditions? I.E under what situation do you drive up compression / rebound and vice versa

Here's my go-to reference for rebound and compression adjustments. Start in the middle and work from there!

I'm also curious about this. How easy is to to physically adjust all settings when I'm switching back to DD wheels? I believe the compression and rebound and in different places front and back? Will I have to cut the trunk liner to adjust the rear?

Thanks,

The fronts are at the bottom of the coil over and the rear yes you will have to cut as they are on top. I had mine cut by MRF.

I have MCS but the concept is the same. I used some 3" OD plastic end caps and used a dremel and random tools to cut open the hole. It is relatively directly below the grommet hole right above the shock tower area.

Thanks! If I could've found the factory non-EDC caps, that would also be a good option for a cover instead of hard plastic like what I bought. I'm looking for a end cap in rubber like the factory ones since I can't seem to find the part number for the non-EDC ones (I hunted ETK and REALOEM for hours and couldn't find it.)

I've been trying to find this piece but may have to go to homedepot for some fun.

Others have done this with extenders too but I don't know if Bilstiens have it.

stupid question, but what tool did you use to cut the round hole. Did you use those round hole saws?
