A little further from the location you posted, but they do great work.

Ask for Sergio.

Thanks! They've got some pretty solid reviews. Do you know if they deal with BMW's regularly?

check out Prestige in Fort Lee NJ. They do tons of high end euro cars including BMWs. Ask for John.

They deal with just about everything regularly.

Class A operation over there.

No affiliation, just a happy repeat customer.

I had some paint and body repair work done at C&D years ago. It was high quality but I think it was pretty pricey as well.

I used to go to C&D Autobody, but matt the owner I think cares to much about his Bmw NA jobs more then his customers, that's just the feeling I got before I stopped going to him back in 2005. Who can blame him though we are all small fish in the pond compared to BMW NA. He is pricey though.

Agreed, when matt takes out his notepad to do the pre-evaluation on the car, you know you getting a high bill.

+1 for C&D and Matt. In my experience he will battle the insurance company on your behalf when they try to minimize the claim by specifing used vs. new parts, repair vs. replacement, etc.

So Matt is willing to repair my car for 9.9k

(Cracked headlight, needs to be replaced)

Originally quoted 13k, insurance refused to pay that. They quoted the damage to be 8.1k

Today I told Matt that I cannot pay an additional 4k out of pocket and went over to the shop to pay my storage fees ($600 for storage, $200 for estimate) so I could have the car moved to MAC in long island when he insisted that he'll do the job for 9.9k....My car has been with Matt for 6 days now and I don't think that they have been "fighting" with my insurance company at all

I forgot to tell you that matt always overbills, and the insurance already knows his game, you’ll be lucky if you dont pay a cent over your deductible. This is what i meant before, that he doesnt care to deal with us small fish anymore when BMW NA cuts him a check for whatver he bills no questions asked. As i said before who can blame him.

If I had known about the overbilling I probably would not have even bothered taking my car to his shop. I've been arguing with state farm like a retard for the past 4 days trying to get them to pay what he wants....MAC is offering to pick the car up for free tomorrow and promised me no out of pocket expense aside from my deductible ( this was true the last time I took my car to MAC) but I'd be stuck with an $800 bill from Matt.. if you factor that amount in to his new pricing, I'd only be paying him $500 plus my $500 deductible. If I pay Matt $800 for storage/estimate I'd be $1300 in the shitter when you include my $500 deductible. Should I just let him do the work?

I cant say on your behalf if you should let him do the work or not. But honestly, he has you in a corner, matt knows it, he squeezes every penny out of you too the point where you get a sour face by going with him. Sorry this happened to you, but it happens everytime when dealing with insurance at c&d, at least when i last went to him in 2005, i see it hasnt changed at all.

I am confused C&D didn't want to agree on the insurance price to repair your vehicle? Typically, bodyshop would agree/negotiate with the insurance company to fix the vehicle. Didn't he tell you up front before you decided to keep your vehicle at his shop if that wasn't the case? So sorry you had to pay the extra storage fee plus your deductible!
