Taking M3 for snow trip

So currently I only have just the M3 and I want to go for a couple snow boarding trips this winter up in Tahoe, I was curious about how the M3 would handle snow and I understand putting chains on would not be ideal. Let me know if you take your M3 on snow trips or daily it during winter how that works for you. Thanks!

Get good snow tires and you'll look forward to winter!

No regrets in the snow in Chicago but if you're going to Tahoe, I'd be concerned about uphill and chains.

I'd be concerned about deep snow during snow falls. If no snow in forecast probably ok with good snow tires.

Look into more winter focused tires (T/H Rated) with smaller width and taller sidewalls (18") opposed to winter performance tires (V Rated).

You'll lose some traction/handling in dry/wet conditions, but will have a much better hold on snow and ice.

I was considering doing this in mine as well, only way i'd feel comfortable would be with snow tires and no actual snowfall in the forecast. Arizona high country isn't nearly as mountainous as Tahoe though.

I'm in Reno on MPSS right now and still able to get by, not as comfortably but still making it. With snow tires you should be good to go

Was in Tahoe Jan of last year and there was a lot of snow and road closures. You def need snow tires. Which mountains are you hitting up. IMO out of the 3 I went (heavenly, squaw, Kirkwood) I liked Kirkwood the best. Heavenly was nice but too commercial and packed.

Those are all good mountains. Tahoe has such a variety of resorts. Kirkwood will typically have way less crowds and deeper snow base.

I'll be at kirkwood this Friday and will report back. Looks like lots of snow in the forecast!

went last year to Tahoe with clear roads but was on snow tires and had chains.. Right now tahoe is going to get destroyed with snow over the next few weeks (should be awesome). As long as you check the weather etc.. you should be fine.. enjoy!

I DD my car and I'm in Green Bay, WI. As long as you have snow tires and the snow isnt too deep or going up massive inclines you should be fine.

I got the season pass for North star, Heavenly, Kirkwood, but I just hit north star this time since I stay in North Lake. The snow was super good almost didn't stop the entire time.

Yeah it was snowing almost over a foot each night, I ended up taking my old Audi A3, which I would have taken in the first place but its blower for the heater/ac went out, so we had to just wear snow gear in the car haha. Glad I left the M3 at home safely because I don't think it would have worked out well for the car.

Can you fit chains on your e92? I wouldn't want to be up there in my e92 right now.

Wow that is pretty sweet looking. Hoping to fit a ski box on mine and drive it up to the slopes. What tires are you on?

Thanks. I usually never come back to the same place unfortunately. Too many new places I haven't been to yet.
