IMO, the 4.10 is the safe option.
Gotcha thanks for the review! Are you and the other person both manual? And did you have any issues going from the old ratio to the new ratio? Especially interested in the other person with the 4.44. Thanks

Hi all,

Any recommendations for front brake disks for track and street? I need new fronts and I am thinking of doing steel lines also... Should I just go oem disks and stoptech lines? Are turner or ECS ones worth the extra money?

Many thanks!

Yes, both were/are manual. No issues switching over. Just make sure whoever is installing it knows what they are doing lol.
Maybe use a gearing calculator to compare the 2 and see which will work best for you. I was close to doing 4.44 myself, but after crunching the numbers at the time felt 4.10 was a better option.

Girodisc rings are a nice upgrade with replaceable rings. Feel free to DM me and I can help out with the rotors and brake lines.

https://paragonbrakes.com/2-piece-ro...3-e90-e92-e93/

or you can run Girodisc front and paragon rear, since girodisc doesn't make the rear kit.

but to be honest, you probably don't need the rear rotor ring to be 2pc.

yeah and the rears on the paragon kit don't really have any advantages over stock. same vane count, and the hat is steel instead of aluminum because of the integrated parking brake.

its not bad. they usually will do a metal insert for the lugs. just don't forget the centerbore, if larger than bwm oe, just use a hub ring, if smaller then bore to oe bmw. (72.56 )

i do this all the time for customers.

I run the 4.44 in my car. It can be a pain sometimes running out of revs as you are about to approach a braking zone. I have tried to negate this by upping the rev limiter to 8600 and also going from 295/30 to 273/35. I would like to try a 295/35 at the rear, but I am worried with how much my car tucks at rear while on track that it might lead to rubbing.

I installed the diff with the help of a friend, and we didn't have any issues. Car fired up no errors and viola instantly felt alive compared to the stock ratio.

I think 4.10 probably is more suited combined with the 295/30 square setup.

GTS lip goes on Monday. Leaning toward a GT4 high mount rear, and if balance isn't quite there, I figure I can fine-tune by adjusting the front lip and/or adding canards if needed.

Is anyone in SoCal getting ready for any track days? I've taken a summer break to avoid the heat, but I'm kind of itching to go again. Not sure if I can wait until September/October when the weather finally starts cooling down a little bit. Would love to meet up for some hot laps!

I did a few of the summer days so far and it was almost unbearable - not to mention chasing heat is always a bummer.

I went to Laguna Seca last weekend and it was an absolute dream temp wise. Will probably make the trek up there more.

I was thinking of joining this; let me see what I can do to make it. I come back from the Nurburgring that Monday, so catching up on work might make a Friday track day hard to make.

For anyone wondering, stock muffler with a catless x pipe will pass 90db days. I did a 90db day at Laguna and didn't have any issues at all. X pipe was resonated but they're straight through.

Car is stripped in prep for additional weight loss and roll cage.

Once completed, it will be going in an acid dip/bath to fully bring it to barebones.

Is anyone interested in a ready to run car. Just need a kill switch and fire suppression install to run wheel to wheel. Cars is built and very competitive in TT3 and would be great in ST3.

Not the case for me. I have Paddoq catless x-pipe (maybe mine is not as resonated as yours...) and stock unmodified muffler and I blew sound @ 94db at Laguna last month. I had to lift for the rest of the day.

Same here. Blew 95 on a 92 day. I have an MS intake as well, so there was some induction noise added in there. Keep in mind air temp, specifically in those cold Monterey mornings, will play a part with how the sound is picked up by the mic. In the future, I will only sign up for 100db plus days at Laguna.
