Tribute To Success.... BMW M3 GTS-R

Tribute To Success.
BMW M3 GTS-R

All eyes are on the Ring for this weekends 24hr race and expectations are high particuliar for the M3 GT. If success beckons the next phase into the scaling down of the E92 could become apparent after the incoming M3 GTS stakes it's claim in history. Plans are in the running for another ltd edition to eclipse the current and sold out GTS , success in this race is one factor , but also continuing success in the ALMS and the Jeff Koons liviered M3 that will race this years 24hr Le Mans.

Already in planning in the design stages the conventional M3 body style remains although the rear arches are more massaged and wider leading into the side sills , The wheels use a Y-shape design in 5 spokes said to be much lighter than the competition spec wheels. At the front the usual M3 aerodynamics stay but a double lip spoiler protrudes from the front a few inches. The rear retains the carbon fibre adjustible spoiler from the GTS. This is where it gets interesting in eclipsing the GTS in weight reduction. The roof remains carbon Fibre , but the bonnet and rear deck lid now join them , The lightweight glass as found on the GTS remains.
Power details are not known but the engineers have been working on getting more power from the V8 which will be matched to a DCT transmission. The car could also use the incoming M5's KERS regenerative braking and boost function.

As for the M3 GTS very bright Inka Orange , the design concept for this M3 is finished in Stealth Frozen matte black with matching wheels.
And like the GTS expect another ltd edition and another premium.
It's called saying goodbye in spectacular fashion.

OMG. Is this the new 911 GT2 RS Killer?

Flared rear fenders? Can we get this part? It is just was is missing in the M3.

M3 CSL, M3 GTS, M3 GTS-R and then yet maybe M1 CSL or GTS?

What about M6 GTR-S, the last NA V10?

I knew it, there was going to be an M6 CSL with 5.5l V10 and 580 HP.

When I think some time ago so many where disapointed that BMW M decided to spend money on building X5 and X6 M instead of M3 CSL, and now BMW M come with M3 GTS being even more radical, and now yet a "Black Series" by M. I really like the rear wing of the M3 GTS.

How many models of the next M3 F30 generation will there be?
M3
M3 GT
M3 CSL
M3 GTS
M3 GTR
M3 EVO
M3 CSL-R
M3 GTS-R

Thanks Thommas for the info.

Saying goodbye in spectacular fashion is awesome, but I hope that BMW will not forget about enthusiasts in the U.S., who buy more M cars than any other country and have elevated the M brand to the respect and status it has today...

We'll get looked over once again, I wanted that GTS so bad!!! Can't wait to see how this unfolds. I'd like to see it in a matte Inca Orange with all that carbon fiber, but it'll look gret either way I'm sure

Al those people who have bought a GTS for 140.000 euro. My word i would be not amused if i just transferred 140.000 euro and read that a GTS-R comes into play.

It s just crazy all those M3 editions it s just to much. Customers don t even wanna buy anymore because if youre ordered one it s already old.

Even reason more so to build the GTS-R after winning the 24H Nurburgring. What a way to top off their success by showing the whole world they can build something even better than the GTS if it was ever possible....I guess it is.

This is great news! Hopefully this spectacularly fashioned goodbye is accompanied by an even more spectacularly fashioned hello by an amazing F30 M3. BMW hasn't let us down so far, let's hope they continue.

This is great news! I look forward to reading what this car will turn out like. I'm so happy the E92 M3 has been such a success overall, this 24h victory, combined with the GTS and forthcoming GTS-R will help cement the E92 M3s place in BMW M3 history along the greats (E30 and E36)
