Sorry for the thread-jack but I have an issue related to TV. I just completed a CCC to CIC retrofit on my ‘08 (CIC unit from a ‘11) and while I had TV on the old CCC (my VO has TV Function S601), the TV function does not work on the new CIC (everything else works absolutely as it should). The TV option in CIC is there in the Menu, but when I go into it, I get the blank screen as per post #22 above. And tuning does not find any channels for me (the search does not move off 0% for digital and analog). Any clues would be appreciated.

Which TV module do you have, you may need to re-pin the FBAS input into the cic, (pretty sure the ccc uses different pins).

Here is CCC and CIC Diagrams for the TV.

CIC

And as @ccfj1 mentioned, FBAS out puts on CCC to Video Module different than CIC to Video Module. Repin them accordingly looking at the CIC diagram above. You will be fine!

Did you have any luck with running TV on CIC?

Just code TV option and wire in whatever you want. I put in a Roku that has composite out video. Works great but you need a data hotspot obviously. Apple TV, shield or whatever you want.

I have a question on wert 23. Which pin is the ground pin? On wiring diagrams for the video module in E70 and E84, ground is shown as pin 23. But on the pinout page for CIC, it shows ground as pin 24 and pin 23 as video signal. Which one is correct?

For reference, I'm fitting RVC and TV module to Oct/2011 E92 with factory CIC.

These are the 3 inputs on the back of CIC for video in. Video + & - and the signal shied which isn't necessary really.

You can essentially use any of these inputs for whatever you system you want. The inputs are assigned in the coding via the wert values I listed next to each input. As long as a default feature doesn't already use input 1-3 you can use any of them for whatever.

Cool for correcting but "cost you hours". Do you have a multimeter? How is there any man hours when it takes minutes to move a pin? Despite the tactless correction you are still welcome for the info.

The fix took ~30 minutes once I realised the problem (car was put back together). The slow bit was finding the problem. I assumed you knew what you were talking about, and that was the last thing I checked. I have a G30 TV module so I thought it was a firmware issue.

Tactless??? I cant see how I could be anymore tactful? I didn't criticise you for posting information that was totally wrong. You would have been better to not have posted at all. Tactless is not apologising for it. I would have been mortified if it was me...

Anyway I have it all wired in and working now:

Hi !

I own a BMW X6 M E71 with TV module, TV on nav screen + TV on the DVD rear screen.

May be you could save me.

I'm getting "aerial 3 not connected" in ISTA AND i get NO TV SIGNAL when turning on TV feature. and when scanning channels, no channel found.

I checked my TV MODULE which has 3 aerial cables : pink, green, brown.
All are well connected.

Pink one (aerial 2) goes to my antenna in the bumper.

But i don't know where goes exactly the 2 others (green and brown) for me to check them ?
You might know it ?
or is it a firmware upgrade to be done ?

Thanks for your assistance

Regards

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

On cars like SUV's and estates, the TV antenna is usually in the side rear windows, the ones behind the doors, you should be able to see the wires on the glass.

On the lack of reception, maybe you module is too old to pick up TV channels in France? You would need to check is your video module analogue or DVB-T1. You wont have a T2 module unless you retrofitted. Then check what is used in France.

Here is a photo of the tv module
Built in may 2010
There are 3 aerial cables.

I succeeded to identify where they are plugged into :
1 to the diversity antenna module
1 to the left rear bumper antenna

I guess that the last one goes to a right rear bumper antenna

I will unmount the right side of the rear number this week end to confirm it

Thanks for your input

Hi Patrick,

I also have the same car... BMW X6 E71 2008 CCC with RSE.
Looking to get my TV up to date since we broadcast in DVB-T2 in Cyprus for a few years now.

All info on my car is here:
https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/t...-2008.1457421/

Can you guide me on the right path if you please?
Which module did you choose? (I now have 65509177195)
Did you need to change your antennas?
Did you need a new bracket?
Did you need to rewire the plugs? I have a blue and a white plug into my current module's sockets.

Thanks mate

I’d love to see a read of parameters from TV & CIC module now that you have it working. I wonder what value I’ve been missing to get full screen. I still think it’s a shortcoming of fbas signal. That TV module is MOST and power only right?
