Issues with PSW 2 electronic
Hey guys,
I had my PSW 2 (electronic) installed at the dealer and have not had issues until recently. Every two or three start ups the wheel does not recognize rpms, so in turn the shift lights don\'t work. Also when this occurs the efficient dynamic mode does not work either. When I go to settings to change the rpm threshold the indicator that normally shows the current rpm it reads 0. To solve the issue I have to let the car sit and completely shut down, sometimes I even have to do this twice before I works again. I am coming to the forums before I go back to the dealer Also is there a reset function on the wheel? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have the same issue. What we found today was that the battery isnt giving a full 12volts. Once you take the negative terminal off it resets but when the car shuts down after a long period you'll have the same problem. Try hooking a battery tender overnight to keep the battery at full charge. Then start the car in the am. Our cars electrical systems are very sensitive. Btw, My battery is 3 yrs old

Anyone automotive trickle
charger. Just make sure you reset wheel first by disconnecting the battery and testing the rpms work on the wheel. Then install charger and let car sit overnight |

Update - i kept the battery tender on overnight and on startup my rpm lights were working. This was a first after sitting overnight! Drove the car for 15minutes, turned it off/on and they weren't working again. This tells me that the battery is not holding a full charge. I'm going to try a new battery.

I have the same problem, but my memory seems to work. It is as if the car does not recognize that it is moving. The shift lights work on startup, but after that, there is nothing as I approach my rpm set. And the little number below reads 0 as well. These haven't worked for me at all since I had it installed.

My issue seems to be when the car sits for multiple days without being started. I have not been out of town in a bout two weeks and the wheels works perfectly every day. Make sure your battery is at a full charge.

When I picked up the car, the battery had been dead. It started after a charge of 15 seconds. Could have something to do with it?

I would check the voltage of your battery I have a feeling that the issue is your battery.

Any luck with changing the battery and sustaining the shift lights? Still having problems here, and the voltage seems to be at least 12.2. do you guys have DCTs? Will the efficient dynamics mode work with DCT?

I have a DCT and the efficient dynamics works just fine just make sure you follow the setup instructions in the manual. As long as I drive my car every day or so the shift light work great. If they are not working, if I drive for a while and then turn the car off and back on they resume to work. So it seems to be just a slight drop in voltage the shift light don't function.

Just remember that if the battery has been discharged, driving it will not fully charge the battery unless you are driving for extended periods of time. A battery tender is your friend.

I drive a lot and even drove 120 miles twice roundtrip to no avail. Tom at EAS has been working on it and says it is now fixed, so I'll see what he says and post up his answer.

Crimped on a new connector, inspected the rest and everything is working once again - M3 is ready for pickup.

Battery did not fix the problem. We are ordering a new wheel. After seeing Toms response on the crimp connector, going to check that as well.

I installed mine yesterday, It worked perfectly and I thought that was a relief.
BUT I get in this morning and the lights are no longer functioning . My car is DCT as well and the only thing that changed between last night and now is I shut the shift lights off on the tach. Going to switch that back later when I drive it, but I doubt that is the issue. Also I have the power wired as per http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=609484 |

Bad news here, the day after the lights were working, after sitting overnight, the shift lights are not functioning. Is it a DCT issue?
