What's ridiculous about it? It's not like they just cake their product in KY and ram it home.
Also, removing the engine isn't *that* big of a deal to someone that knows what they're doing. |

Yes I know, I work on cars. I mean it's ridiculous that it really prevents the initial install from happening unless its a shop w/ lift doing it. I suppose you could just drop the motor to get the headers in/out and once they're installed yyou shouldn't have to touch anything. But I am more hoping that everything is at least serviceable once installed.

WELL that's possible.... This is an "Off the Shelf" kit from a Vendor, so there's obviously a lot more work that goes into getting everything ready for mass production/testing. BUT if you're gonna go with a 1-off kit and a local vendor, it's completely possible it ends up costing more (fabrication/time/materials), especially if something bad happens (blown motor).

I'm guessing based on the ongoing thread about the Harrop TS kit that we will see numbers on the low side of these estimates. Either way, I'm itching for the ACTUAL production-run figures to be released. Someone put down high-400's with the Harrop but that obviously needs a little tune tweaking

I got tired of waiting and got a ESS 625 kit, pretty happy with it.

Final dyno run who cares if it says 700! Its all about the gains over stock on the same dyno, then trap speed at the track! See what mph this thing can hit!

I think not much longer till release. Having talked with Gintani (about a month ago) I believe their in production mode but have encountered casting issues for some of the parts. Would be resolved soon, if not already.

There's no aftermarket on this platform because the vendors lock it down the best they can. There's no standing on the shoulders of other enthusiasts here, it's just little companies that rarely work with others aside from a few standouts. It doesn't help that 95% of M3 owners can't do work on their own car, so that DIY camaraderie and sharing spirit you find on other platforms is non-existent. No one vendor is to blame really, it's just how things are for modern BMWs.

I hope this kit is fully released soon and a TT s65 would be amazing but if any of you haven't rode in a 600-650 supercharged e9x M3 you should, its a quick car with plenty of power!
