2 hours later...

had time to wash the car properly this weekend
took about 2.5 hours
love the results
all i used was some soap i had gotten from Target
and 'Wax and Dry' by turtle wax, you spray it on a wet car and dry it
so you are both drying and waxing
looks great with very little effort

all boils down to the amount of elbow grease you are willing to put in

Can this Turtle Wax Wash and Dry product be used every time you wash your car? If the product your using really has wax in it, isn't it bad to be waxing your car ever time you wash it?

Can you supply a link to this product? I couldn't find it on www.target.com.

i don't use it that often
about once a month
it can last longer if i don't use a car wash
when i have time i just hose the car down and dry it
that way the shine stays on longer

target website doesn't always have what's in the store
i just got another bottle yesterday
$6.49

Okay, thanks. I'll probably pick some up and try it. I'll post pics of the car when I'm done. The product has a very attractive price.

Your car looks good. Has a nice deep and wet look to it. I wonder how it will look on my Alpine White car?

You have such a nice car and you should try to match the quality of the products you use to the car. I doubt your car will continue to look like the way it is if you continue with auto car washes and $6.49 waxes.....

well i've been using this for over 5 years on my last 3 cars
no problems, and the paint looked as good as new
when i returned the first lease, the dealer thought i had painted the car cuz it looked so good

don't fall into the if its not expensive it's not good mode
next thing you know you'll be wasting your money

and not all car washes are bad
if they use the thin plastic strips they will scratch
if they use the foam strips they won't

Are you kidding about this? You seriously hose down a dirty car and then dry? You will have the worst swirl marks. Just reading this made me sick.

I agree that cheap products can still be good but wiping down/drying a car after just hosing it down will only damage the paint. Please prove me wrong, take some photos of your paint close up with a lamp or flashlight above you. I am curious to see your paint quality after this.

well it's not like filthy
i wash it about once or twice a week

are you suggesting that if i spray soap along with the water it disintegrates the dust particles?
the main component that cleans the car is running water
soap just disolves grime, bird poop etc
but water is the component that washes out the dust, dirt etc
basically anything that can scratch paint should wash off with water
if it doesn't, adding soap to the mix still means you woud scratch the paint

Agreed!

If at 5ft away driving 65mph people still noticed that your car is clean, sparkling and it turns heads thats all that matters.......

my neighbor has been using laundry detergent for about 5 years and both of his cars never, ever have been waxed and the paint looks better than mine. Still beads... go figure... not sure it's really the more expensive, the better the product all the time.

i added the spacer since the fronts stick out by 9mm vs stock (ET29 Vs ET20)
to keep the same difference as stock

Yeah, the VMR CSLs always give the car a clean custom look.
