Front license plate

How many of you run without a front license plate around the Seattle area? I'm thinking of not having my installed when it arrives and see what happens. I just hate the thought of drilling the front bumper and the ones that mount on the tow hook look bad (IMO).

Same here. Although both times (one fine and one warning) have been in the past 6 months....

4 years, got my first ticket couple weeks ago. Got two tickets that day on Alaskan Avenue in the 15 minutes that I was parked there: one for parking when I had a 2 hours valid receipt displayed and one for the missing front license plate. Now I have to contest the parking one and they're making me miss some time at work go to the court at 11am on Tuesday to fight a $30something ticket. F@#$(ers...

Is that your white M3 in the thread photos?

It sucks, I had been in VA for a week before I got stopped by a cop asking me why my temporary plate in the front was in the window instead of on the car. Needless to say, I put it on later that day.

I had German plates on mine originally, and the dealership there drilled two holes into the bumper anyway. Unfortunately they didn't match up with the holes on my new VA plates, so one more hole had to be drilled in Oh well, it sucks but at least you can't see it.

I did get pulled over near the Safeco stadium by a WSP. He gave me a warning. Beside that, haven't had any problems.

Interesting. This is where I got my ticket as well. While parked under the viaduc... Good to know it's a "dangerous" place to park.

even if you only get ticketed once a year for no plates, it's a $124 "tax" i'm willing to pay to not have an ugly-ass front plate.

keep hearing rumors that since the state is totally fuc*#%^&ed and broke that the governor was talking about not requiring front plates in a measure to save the state money. could be urban legend. fun to entertain the thought tho.

The cops here on the east side of the state don't have the amount of people as over there, so they have more time here lookin for the small sh#t
So this is what I did got it @ autozone and easily just bolted it to my bottom screen and comes with allen wrench so you can take it off and leaves the mount you can't hardly see
Sorry for the dirty car scared to wash it

Juz curious... Do you just specify the whole license plate, front bumper thing to the dealership when you order the car, telling them that you don't want holes in your front bumper or what?

I found the CPE plate mount to be fantastic - sturdy and high quality. Please forgive the 135i link in the M3 forum - pics here

I didn't run front plates on my cars for years, but in the last year I got one ticket and 2 warnings so the plates are now back on. I would love for the "no front plate law" to pass, but the cops will probably fight it because there would be a loss of revenue for them.
