Vacuum and Air Compressor

Hey guys.. looking for a nice vacuum to use on my car and also an air compressor to force out any water hiding in cracks and side mirrors after a wash.

Post about what vacuum you are using for the inside of your car and what air compressor you are using to blow out water.

another question.. i dont know how air compressors work really.. are there any air tanks or any other parts i will have to replace in terms of maintenance? or does it just suck in air, compress it, and blow it out?

You can find these items at Lowes or Sears..............

The compressor works on its own, its 120v and is maintenance free

Garage List
I've had a few compact compressors, this one has been exceptional. 6.5cfm at 90psi means it can run real tools for more than a few seconds w/o losing pressure. Very quick recovery and easy to store and move. The arms break down when not in use.

Some of the Shopvacs also double as a leaf blower. Works well for blowing off excess water.

I use a 5hp 4 gallon wall mount vacuum from Rigid similar to this http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/WD4070-P...c/EN/index.htm available at home depot and electric toro leaf blower to blow water off car and out off crevices etc.

  • Shop-Vac 6-Gallon 3.0 peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum
  • Craftsman 20 Gallon Portable Vertical Air Compressor (for interior, like how I can adjust PSI not to break any little plastic pieces and the long skinny hose and blow nozzle for precision to get in between)
  • Toro 51585 Power Sweep 7 amp 2-Speed Electric Blower (for exterior)

I'll probably invest in a more powerful Shop-Vac, 5 or 6 HP, not really for the M3, but for my Jeep Liberty, which carries the dog around.. the 3 HP doesn't do the best against per hair.

...why do you also need the Toro leaf blower?? The shop vac' can also convert as a blower.... just wondering.

May be they are not powerful enough??

Yup more power for drying. Don't get me wrong the Rigid 5hp is a great vacuum and plenty powerful.
