Get a tune.. I have BPM Stage 2, ACM Test pipes, and Megan catback - sounds amazing and the power and midrange torque gains are HUGE over stock.

I believe he was a little more enthusiastic than me as he put 3 layers on the bottom of the plastic tray. I opted out of this because a) getting the tray out looked to be a PITA, and b) that was going to be like $200 in Dynamat. I think if I lay down a layer of acoustic carpet in the tray it will be right where I want it. Sorry. That was a bit long winded...
Dynamat might not be a bad idea

+1. For the money, you get ridiculous performance. I'm really hoping I can live with the ACM TP and oem exhaust mod, but I'm most likely going to pull the trigger on the Megan exhaust next month. We'll see.

Questions for those with test pipes: how was the sound quality impacted? Louder overall? Any reduction in low rpm resonance? More resonance?

Any other info is appreciated. And yes, I know it makes more HP. :-)

INSTALLED TODAY! Finally exhaust comparison video... quality sucks but hope it can be referenced.

Stock rear, resonator delete. Warm car, warm exhaust

Megan rear Rolled Tips, resonator delete. Cool car, cold exhaust

Review: The exhaust does drone, and is I would say, deeper in tone, less raspy than the stock exhaust. It's not as loud as RPi, but has a similar tone, not really "nascar" as stated in previous posts. It sounds beefy, but kinda takes away from my intake noise. In terms of fitment, its not 100%, its like say 85% perfect. The drivers side hangs slightly lower than the left side, its not as noticable since I have a diffuser. Quality of the exhaust is not bad, the rolled tips look fantastic... I have in-cabin sounds that I will upload tomorrow.

Installed my on Friday... Love it. I want it to be a little louder so the TMS test pipes I already have will be going on soon. Rolled tips in black ceramic coat look great against SSII.

How bad is it? The stock drones a bit at 1500-2000 rpm, then goes away. Is fitment that bad? did u have to buy any additional bolts/washers.etc. to get it fit.

Where did u order it from? Thanks for the upload...I like the sound but can't deal with drone especially at HWY speeds

Those aren't the rolled tips. The rolled ones are welded on and have no rivets. I posted a close up picture a page or so ago.

Only time the drone is noticeable for me is during a cold start and at or below 2k RPM which in this car is a rare cruising engine speed. Anything above 2800 RPM is fine and no more than stock. As far as fitment it depends where you get it installed. Any good shop will bend the hangers and make adjustments. Mine came out 100% perfect and took about an hr to put on.

+1 on figment and drone. Car is certainly loud at startup and has noticeable drone during low rpm shifts or sustained speed between 1800 and 2400 rpm. See my post above about Dynamat.

Wow, I just installed mine with Turner Test pipes, and it's super quiet. I was shocked. I'd say it is the quietest cat delete system I have had, short of the BMW Performance exhaust with TTP (and those sounded like horrible ripping ass)

That said, my driver's side does hang down too. I wonder if the new single muffler design won't do that.

(for reference these are the exhaust setups I have had:

2011 E90 M3:
Magnaflow
Corsa
Riss Racing
Autobahn Exotics
Vanguard
Vanguard + Fabspeed X pipe (stock primary cats)
Akrapovic slip on + Fabspeed X pipe
Akrapovic slip on
Akrapovic Evolution
Challenge Sport X pipe + Akrapovic Slip on
Challenge Sport X pipe + Arqray titanium
Turner Test pipes + stock
Stock X pipe + BMW Performance exhaust
Turner Test pipes + BMW Performance Exhaust
Turner Test pipes + Arqray
Turner Test pipes + Innotech rear section

On my 2011 E93 M3:
Innotech rear section (doesn't fit with the E93's brace)
Akrapovic Slip on
Eisenmann Sport

2012 E92 M3:
MXP
Corsa
Evolve Full System

2013 E92 M3:
Innotech catback
Turner Test Pipes with Innotech Catback
Turner Test pipes with Megan Exhaust

if you guys are still having issues getting the Megan Racing catback you could sub into most other ebay type brands that sell asian made E9X M3 exhausts.

they're all exactly the same and go by a dozen made up names. i sound like i'm being a bit derogatory but i'm not... i think the Chinese exhausts have a great market when they're up against stuff that cost 3+ times more for the same thing.

You have to hold the records for the # of exhausts!

Of all the ones, where would rate the Megan? Don't take into account price as we are comparing the Megan against higher priced brands. We want you to only judge sound quality and overall experience.

Look forward to your response

I ordered mine from semotorsports.com. They had the SS tips one for 435.00 and free shipping. They called 2 days later and said it's back ordered. So I changed my order to the rolled burnt tips one. The price for this one was 585.00 with free shipping, which is a good deal in my opinion. I was supposed to have it on the 12th - friday. Well guess what, Fedex lost it somewhere. It was last scanned in City of Industry, CA...lol. They are trying to track it now and should know more tomorrow.

It sounds fine. Doesn't do anything really bad (I hear a TOUCH of drone at 2800 rpm but it's very faint.) It's not the best sounding exhaust I've heard but I have to admit, I rather like the tone. With the

Fitment wise, it's one of the worst fitting exhausts I've tried, but I have to say most of the exhausts for the M3 fit pretty darn well. (At least that I've tried)

The driver's side hangs maybe 1/4" too low? Not too noticeable but most people with Megan exhausts say the same thing. The tips are small so it doesn't really bother me, unless I get OCD which I tend to do. Probably something easy for a muffler shop to fix or I bet I could fix it by just taking the muffler off and slotting the side mount for a bit of adjust-ability. (maybe slotting it and welding on a washer to secure it)

Strange...

My dual can single wall megan with the Ti tips does not hang as low as your guys at all. And my tips are much more flush to my bumper. My logo is also horizontal along the side of the exhaust tip. Not across the top of it.

I keep hearing talk of a rolled tip. But I always thought a rolled tip was a dual walled tip? No? Because the rolled tip one I have seen, still looks like a single wall tip to me? Or I cant tell in the pictures.

At any rate, if you cant adjust your muffler tips even; just add a couple washers to whatever sides rubber mount bracket. It will take you less than 10 minutes with no jack needed. Remove two bolts, pull down on the bracket, add your washers and put it back. I had to ADD washers to mine for my Vorsteiner diffuser to fit.
